I am looking at replacing my work truck with a Subaru outback and was wanting to see if there is a forum out there or any owners that can tell me anything I should look out for. I am going to look at an outback xt limited (the turbo model) tomorrow that I will probably buy because it is a good deal and I like the setup.
Don't worry.. no plans to sell the MINI.. that will always stay in the stable.
thanks in advance for the help.

I think my boyfriend frequents "The Ultimate Subaru Message Board." Google seems to place it here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/ I'm not sure it's the best place for the type of information you're looking for, but it might be a good start
How do you like it? any complaints?
I need the room for stuff and passengers for work (that and I put about 35K-40K a year and dont want to tear up the MINI any more which is why I drive the truck daily).
I have always liked the subarus and figured this XT I found is a sweet deal. Now just to test drive it and make the final deal.

my wife is the primary driver and she likes it a lot. I like it too as it's
very fluid in movement...steering, acceleration, how the AT shifts....very
smooth. it's got a nice lux feel even though ours is a non-turbo
SportsEdition with no leather. It has the black interior with 2tone black
cloth seats. very nicely done.
mpg is a little low due to AWD... can only get 30mpg hwy at best
and 23mpg on surface streets. that equals only about 350-400miles
tops on a tank which for my wife is only a few days...but she can
haul *** in the snow as if it was just rain.
if you get the turbo
ones you'll only get like 25mpg hwy and maybe as low as 19-20mpg
in the city.
For someone like my wife and yourself that puts in lots of miles, i
would recommend something with more mpg...unless you need the
AWD. i was hoping the legacy would get high 20's mpg in the city
but not the case. regardless it's a nice car.

Our 2nd car (which my wife drives mostly) is an '05 auto OBP Outback XT Ltd. wagon. We love it. It is a great grocery-getter, firewood hauler, family road trip, sleeper car. It does have a fair amount of turbo lag but is a blast to drive. If you need to get somewhere in a snowstorm, you can't beat a Subaru. The Ltd. has a very nicely appointed interior. I would highly recommend.
Chris,
Are you buying a new car? The 07 has a few nice tweaks the earlier years did not, namely SI Drive and a nicer MSRP. The ride and handling is great compared to any truck and the sunroof is almost a convertible. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in a new car and havent discussed price with the dealer yet and I'll hook you up.

My wife's daily driver is a 99 Legacy Outback sedan. We bought it new and it's now got about 71k on it. It's been a great car and I'd buy another Subaru again in a heartbeat.
