STI was almost my car while in DC. Once I moved to FL though the MINI took over in my head... Also I used to do paintless dent repair at a Subaru dealship and was going to get a SICK deal on a new one... Too bad. It will happen eventually though!

You don't mention what part of the world you live in. If you have long, snowy, winters then go for the WRX STI.
If you are in a more southerly enviroment without a real winter, go for the Z-06.

75 percent of the people at mini2.com went with the STI!
It looks like the opposite here...I guess if you've ever driven across Iowa you have a different opinon.
Okay. I'll get the Z06! Although I've been looking at a 2000 C5 convertible that is RED!
What do you think: NEW 206 WRX STI vs. USED 2000 C5 Corvette?

Get the Z06, and get the twin turbo from Lingenfelter Performance.. 800hp can easily smoke any STI or EVO..

i'd get the Z06 myself if those were my choices. the STI's cool, but i've had a modded WRX in the past which was enough suby fun for me.
even the vette coupes are nice... that might be more of my choice as im not
really into stiff suspension all that much any more and rather cruise around town.
it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow.

My vote would be STI (although I can't stand the fugly new Suby noses). I am currently driving a highly modded WRX. If you really want some awd fun, I'd wait for the Evo X next year. I went back and forth and debated on a bunch of car options before deciding to order the MINI. Waiting on the Evo X was high on my list right behind a used 911 turbo (which I still hope to get in a year or two).

here's one totally out of left field: you've got a sporty little car. How about getting a Ram SRT-10? Maybe even loaded up with the Hennessey turbo kit? I mean, how cool would be driving a full size truck that hits gets up to 60 in under 4 seconds?
