....What about buy another Mini and twincharge it . A fast car that appears slow. It'll be the ultimate sleeper.

Used C5 vs. STi - STi
New ZO6 vs. STi - New ZO6

It's not like corvettes can't take corners. Have some of the highest slalom and skidpad numbers out of the box...1.02g for the skidpad for the new ZO6. C'mon 60 MPH in 1st gear...

or the new M Coupe...

[EDIT] Or just blow everything away and get a Noble, destroy all of these cars. My vote goes for the Noble.

Man I'd go with the STi, but I'm a kid in the midst of a tuner crowd so... A well modded STi can out-accelerate a Z06, b/c of the All Wheel Drive. It will be better in corners again b/c of the AWD. I REALLY WISH MINI WOULD MAKE AN AWD B/C THAT CAR WITH SOME MORE HP WOULD BE KILLER!

10x is a bit of a stretch... Have a good friend w/ both. Undeniably the Z06 will smoke an STi; however, the Subie is excellent bang for the buck.

[EDIT] NOBLE still has my vote.

A stock C5 Z06 would destroy a stock STi. End of story. If you tune them, a tuned C5 Z06 would destroy a tuned STi. Those motors are only good for around 400 or so hp before they capsize.

Oh yeah, I'd get the Z06 over the STI. No question. No doubt. No two ways about it.

The Evo X v the Z06? Hmmm, that requires much more contemplation.

I'd go with the Z06. There are a lot of lightly used ones for sale right now. I'd stay away for '01's due to an oil consumption issue - not all of them had the problem but why risk it. The STI is a great car but if you already have a mini, I'd buy something with the brute force of the Z - but then, I'm a little biased

Personally, I can't quite fathom the thinking behind considering a z06 versus a STi. Big displacement V8 versus Turbo I-4. RWD versus AWD. $60K versus $30k. 2 doors/seats versus 4 doors/seats. Conclusion..spend 90K and buy an M5 V10.

For the price of the STi,

you could get a used Jag XKR convertable, but really, if you have to have one of those cars, I'd go Corvette. And this is from a Mustang guy! No wonder about on Mini2, they pay a lot more for gas over in Europe.

Here's a list you could get for the $60k.....

Healy 3000 MKIII
Triumph TR-3
Porsche 944 Turbo
And A Jeep CJ-2 or something, for when it's not nice out!

Just some thoughts....

Matt
