the Mk. V pwnz. The car in that picture has what I *think* is the ABT bodykit, that's obviously not stock. I can't wait for this car- my next car is either going to be a white Mk.V GTi or an 07 Cooper S.
This is the first VW since the Mk.II's that I would actually enjoy driving from a performance standpoint- the guy that designed the suspension dynamics for the Mk.1 Ford Focus (which I currently have, and love it for it's handling, even when coupled to a mediocre engine) did the suspension for the Mk.V GTi, and it has a very similar design.
This means that we finally have a VW that doesn't handle like a fat pig! So, a more nimble GTI, plus a big nod to the original GTi, plus the superb new 2.0T engine, and I'm all about it.
I was kinda up in the air about the exterior styling, but I like it a lot now, after seeing some aftermarket kits.
That said, I doubt it will handle as good as the MCS, stock vs. stock. And I prefer the styling of the MCS.
