New ugliest vehicle on the road!

This is all a matter of personal opinion, of course, but I think that the passing of the Ugliest Vehicle On The Road crown in recent years has gone something like this:

1. Pontiac Aztek (duh)

2. Then the Avalanche arrived:

3. Last year, the Japanese seized control of the award by releasing the Infiniti QX56. Particularly in white, this thing truly makes me gag.

But oh my lordy, has a new contender arrived on the scene! Have you guys seen this thing? Subaru B9 Tribeca. It makes the Baja look like a Z3 in comparison. Ungodly ugly nose, especially. I almost can't wait to see one in person.

Ouch! That is indeed very ugly! Thanks for the warning, Chris, I'll now know to avert my eyes!!!

I once was an Aztec driving out of a MINI dealership and the thought struck me.....so how do those extremes in taste co-exist on one person???

I've tended to view the Aztec as being an homage to orthopedic shoes. Now comes the "B9" (what were they thinking with that?). My first impression is that it looks like a horny toad right down to the almost finning out sides and rear roofline, as well as the short snout protruding from those beady eyed lights.

To each their own. Somewhere Aztec owners are wondering about us.

The new Prius looks like a frog. It doesn't do it for me at all.

How about the xB? "Get your own box" hahaha Cheeze-It boxes make me think of xB's. Nice.

Tribecca's production is increasing... i know cause I have parts that go
into that vehicle... some people like that $38K ride. I have one of the
hardest times understanding what the hell the newb engineers were
smoking while they designed that ugly pos. The interior is pretty nice
though...but could not figure out how to get to the 3rd row seats...

sorry, if you like that B9...

I think it has some baseboard electric heater genes, as well. Truly a conceptual melting pot!

The QX56 is a MESS! I can't stand this thing and when we were looking for a new car a few months ago, my wife mentioned this monstrosity and I told her I couldn't ride around in something that ugly!

I agree on your choices -- all fugly.

Badge engineering is only going to get worse, I'm afraid (ie the TrailBlazer/Tribeca garbage). Interesting column in the June issue of CAR magazine on this issue.

If I had to list what I thought were the ugliest cars on the road I would be forced to list several current BMWs - those cumbersome lines and headlights/grills blech. I agree with your choices as well tho

For some reason, Subaru seems to be intent on putting that Edsel front end on more of their cars too. Here's a pic of what they are supposedly doing to the 2007 STi

This design shows tons of character. Much more so than the current 4dr sedan box in production by Subie.

Ah, eVal, thanks for adding the AMC Pacer. I know someone that bought one when they first came out. Crueler people than I would sing "meet George Jetson" when he walked by at the office. It was so ahead of its time I am betting that time will never come.
