Lovely.

That story actually makes these people sound pretty smart in comparison:

SUV crashes into pool moments after leaving college

By Associated Press | May 3, 2005

MILTON, Mass. (AP) -- Three college students in Milton gave a whole new meaning to the term "pool-hopping."

Police say an SUV carrying the young people wound up in a swimming pool in a private home across the street from Curry College. It happened early this morning, but why it happened isn't clear.

The vehicle reportedly had just pulled out of the entrance to the college on Route 138 when it plowed through some bushes, careened across the lawn and landed, right-side up, in the pool.

The occupants of the car escaped without serious injury.

Police are investigating the accident and no charges have been filed at this point. Police say there is no indication that alcohol was involved.

Judging by the marks on the spring board and the position of the vehicle, I would say that they did NOT stick the landing.

The title of this thread at first made me wonder why it was not in the "Camera and Video" section.

Sad for the SLR that is was being piloted by a moron. Classic stupid maneuver...when will we learn????

I really have no idea why people idolize celebrities, sports or otherwise.

That's what it says, but it has to be KPH. Or furlongs per fortnight.

The "209" might be a total impact speed. If he was going 150mph, and the other car was moving 59mph, then you have a 209mph wreck.

I think they published the top speed of the SLR just to sensationalize the story! Good old fashioned tabloid journalism.

Also reminds me of hearing about Sergey( ) Federov, who managed to reduce the limited production of the Ferrari Enzo from 400 to 399.

What an A**hole.

I hope the injured VW driver sues him for every friggin' penny he has. Prima Dona sports types (or any other 'types' for that matter, with more cash than sense) need to be taught that we also live on this planet...and just because they've got tons of cash that doesn't mean they are above the law and can endanger other's lives.

I also think 'Naz' should be sent to driving school...after which he shouldn't be allowed to pilot anything more powerful than a Vespa scooter.

[Right - I'm off the soapbox now]
