If you won the jackpot!

Just wondering what the motoring buddies on NAM think... i want to ask you guys.. what would be 5 cars that'd find their way on your driveway if you won the lottery... let's be sensible... providing you still keep your job...

mine?
1)Classic Mini Cooper clubman with mid engine 3SGTE engine (autocross champ, track killer)
2)NB8C miata (2nd gen) with Rensis Rotary engine (autocross champ)
3)Mitsubishi EVO 6 RSII (i'd keep it stock actually) (stock class killer)
4)my current Cooper S (street brusier)
5)Scooby Legacy 3.0GT (winter car)

It changes by the minute but if I had to pick five besides my MINI, I would probably pick:

'53 Hudson Hornet

A 1939 Graham Supercharge

How about the Bugatti Veryron 16.4

1959 Austin Healey Sprite:

Porsche Spyder:

Last time I noticed (might have been Thursday) the jackpot in California was hovering around $70 million. Even after taxes there should be enough left over for something frivolous.

1. Ferrari 275 GTB (classic V12 carbs--musica classica e bella)

2. Ferrari F430 spider (musica moderna)

3. Mercedes S55 AMG (super sedan)

4. Porsche C4S 993 (track specs but street legal)

5. My Mini S JCW convertible (still waiting to arrive) gas miser/great handling

I assume a multi million jackpot- if not well I'd still take the 275 GTB and the Mini. Old classic and new classic would look great in my garage. I will have at least 1 Ferrari (F355) in my garage in the near future!

Whatever I got bored with first would get replaced by either a 4 door (Arnage, E55/65?) or an AWD beast (Gallardo, 911, Cayenne Turbo?)

Am I being sensible?

For sophistication and beauty:

1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider

For brute force fun and big *** grins:

Ferrari F40

#1) MCSc Works with all the trick bits. (no photo, you know what they look like.

#2) 1965 Triumph TR4 like the one my dad had when I was growing up. (This one was not it)

The rest would be motorcycles

#3) MV Augusta F4-1000 Tamburini. Italian art in its highest form.

#4) Ducait Multistrada 1000s DS.

#5) Triton cafe racer. Like this one though it should say Triton on the tank instead of Norton.

Sure is nice to dream!

My first love in cars are the British Leyland sports cars of the 60s and 70's. I've owned a few. But, but one I like and one of the rarest is a Triumph TR-5, similar in looks to CafeJane's TR-4 above, but with a big, fuel injected six (basically TR-6 running gear in a TR-4). Made in 1968, right-hand drive only, fuel injected. Never imported to the U.S., very rare.

Then, after purchasing a home in Provence, probably near St. Remy, I'd drive the TR-5 to Stuttgart and pick up my new 911.

Now, back to reality, sadly . . .

That isn't entirely true. The TR5 was imported, only it was called the TR250. It had the six but was not fuel injected like the TR5. It was unfortunately lacking in HP as a result. TR250's were pretty common in San Diego when I was growing up.

My older brother had a TR 250, circa 1970 or so. Had to give it up when he went into the army. I remember it as a very good looking car.

The TR-5 and TR-250 are entirely different cars and as such, the TR-5 is both very rare and very expensive. They're almost non-existent in the U.S. All TR-5s are right-hand drive. And, ALL TR-5s had Lucas mechanical fuel injection, not carbureted with twin Stromberg CD175s like the TR-250. The Lucas fuel injection on the TR-5 would not pass U.S. emissions standards at the time and thus could not be (legally) imported). Plus, not many Americans would purchase a car with the steering wheel on the right (i.e., passenger side for a U.S. car). Again, ALL TR-5s are right-hand drive.

Production dates for the TR-5 were October 1967 to November 1968. There were 2,947 built. The fuel-injected 2500 cc engine had 150bhp, about 40 more than the TR-6!

The TR-250 was manufactured for export. The TR-5s were not. That's why they were named differently by Triumph.

I only wish I could get a TR-5 for the same price!!!! Do a Google search for "Triumph TR-5", and you'll get lots of good info.

I hope this is helpful.
