That made my day! I flipped off the first Hummer I saw in my MINI, next time I'll try to get a picture. And I'll start flipping them all off.

I fail to understand the reason for all the SUV hatred. SUVs up to and including the Hummer (but maybe not the H2) are the only vehicles that are suitable for certain tasks!
I owned a ‘96 GMC Suburban (The Miata Masher) for eight years and 98,000+ miles. I lived in the Sierra which often had unplowed roads in the winter so the high ground clearance and 4-wheel drive saved my butt more than once. Living 20 miles from the nearest town with concrete sidewalks meant that I often needed to carry large loads. My two sons were very active in Boy Scouts and I often carried seven scouts/adult leaders with all of their camping gear on dirt high Sierra back roads. When a Miata thought to challenge my right to the road it totaled the Miata and did less than $500 damage to my Suburban.
SUV driver get a bad rap for their driving skills and awareness - - am I a better driver when I’m driving my MINI or my Z3, and a worse driver when I’m in my ex-Suburban? I think not!
The problem is that the great majority of SUV owners do no live in "sierras" and do not use these vehicles for what they were intended to do. Vehicles like the H2 are often used by poseurs to go to the grocery store and the shopping mall, which is 99% of the cases here in Florida.
If you live in Alaska, or the Rocky Mountains or some remote area with bad roads, sure SUVs make sense but in the urban scene, they do not.

How suv's affect my driving...
Blocking my view when I am yielding to make a right hand turn...
Getting blinded by suv headlights from the back especially while waiting at the
light and also getting spot lighted (the entire interior of my car).
Getting tailgated by suv's that take much more distance to stop even if
I were to slam my brakes during an emergency.
And most of them don't even know they are causing these inconveniences
to others on the road. now why do I hate suv's...

It seems to me that 18-wheelers surpass SUVs in all of the categories that you listed, and there are many more 18-wheelers on the road than SUVs. In addition, I'd bet that 18-wheel drivers smoke a lot more dope and do a lot more speed than the average soccer mom in her SUV! Why not hate 18-wheelers instead of jumping on the I hate SUVs and their drivers bandwagon?

18-wheelers are mostly present in highways and interstates. SUVs are everywhere!

Bashers and haters ......get a life.......you are polluters as well. Don't look at the sand of grain in your neighbor's eye when you have a boulder on yours. How do you know the hateful SUV driver doesn't have the most energy conserving home that ever was? What in the hell do you know about that person other than the fact that they are driving a vehicle you dissaprove of?
I hate BRG jobs, doesn't mean I go flipping people off.
You wanna moan about gas guzzlers, get a bike and start pedaling....then complain to me. While you're at it, disconnect your electricity and go live with the Amish. In the mean time zip it.......
sheesh.......the intellect.......
FLAME SUIT ON, FLAME THROWER AT THE READY......

I live in Southern California and all day long I am surronded by soccer moms in big SUVs. I don't mind small SUVs or big SUVs towing boats or loaded with kids and gear. What bothers me is that people use these H2s and Escalades as their daily drivers. These people do not need a 7 passenger 7 ton vehicle, they simply like it, and hence want it, so they get it.
When the bumper of your vehicle of choice lines up directly with my head I have every right to ask what your reasons are for putting my safety and life at risk. And if your only reason is cuz you like it or it makes you feel safer I think you are an idiot. I don't hate these people just their choice of vehicle and thier rational for the decision to place me and my family at risk.
If you like SUVs then be man enough to explain why and don't hide behind such a weak argument like 'if you don't ride a bike then you can't complain about anything.' Or 'this is America and we have freedom and I like big cars'.
Peace (the real peace, not the one with all the bombs and killing)
The fact is, the majority of our cities are very bike unfriendly. Our cities are so spread out that it might be highly impractical or even impossible to commute by bike.
If I was able to take public transportation such as light rail instead of driving to work, I would. You've also got to weight the benefits of that. Fare vs Fuel? Will you get a cheaper insurance rate if you take mass transit?
The nice thing is, I work at home, so my commute is dragging my *** downstairs to make coffee, and back up to my office.
On another note, it wouldn't surprise me if the ELF (Earth Liberation Front) people who set those H2s on fire last year in LA, surf that website

I am a basher and hater!
.
I hate people that are younger than me because they are immature.
I hate people that are older than me because they are geezers.
.
I hate people that drive cars larger than mine because they block my vision.
I hate people that drive cars littler than mine because they are hard to see.
.
I hate people that drive slower than me because they block traffic.
I hate people that drive faster than me because they are maniacs.
.
But, most of all I hate people that jump on the hate bandwagon of the month just because it is what the herd is doing!

Quite a few people on this forum own the MINI and an SUV ... I have a GMC Envoy and my Cooper S.
As long as our gas prices are relatively cheap compared to the rest of the world, SUVs will sell briskly.
Can you imagine a SMART car cruising next to an H2 on a Los Angeles freeway? Might as well be on a Vespa.
SUVs aren't the only gas guzzlers on the road ... However, I do think ALL auto manufacturers should stop resisting legistlation that attempt to improve gas mileage.
If GM can make buses that run on natural gas, they can improve the fuel efficiency of their cars.

So if one motors in their MINI 500 miles a week using 20-25 gallons it's okay...but driving an H2 around using the same amount of gas is a problem? I didn't buy my MINI for fuel economy or the environmental impact it does or does not have. I bought it because I liked the way it handled and it was a blast to drive. And while some may say SUV driver's are more aggressive or oblivious to others on the road - what about MINI owners that weave in an out of traffic at high speed because of the "car's great handling?" Both in my book are fools. I have seen some glaring examples of dangerous driving on group runs (double line passing, weaving, failure to stop - name it)
Granted some of the yo-yo's driving SUV's might be wannabe gangstas or soccer moms feeling immortal, but you cannot simply lump all of them into the same category.....
