Has anyone gone to the F-1 race in Austin ? My question is--- If you have general admission tickets, are you allowed to walk around to other general admission areas, or must you stay put in one area only?

 

You can walk around anywhere, except the grandstands. Your ticket is checked at the gate and never looked at again, unless you want to get in a grandstand.I walked all around the track (I did have a grandstand seat).

As for places to view I might try somewhere in the turn 5-6 region. There's a natural bowl there and you can see a lot of the track from 4-8. Also in front of the grandstand at turn 10 was a good place.

For race day a lot of people camped down at turn 1, it was very crowded. You get a lot of action at turn 1, but there were just too many people there. Turn 11 looks like a good place, but you can't get very close.
