I began with a red and white car and now, my MINI (the last car I'll probably own) is red and white. I've had 2 convertibles, which is 1 more than most people have. Here they are:

1957 Ford Fairlane convertible red/white
1963 Mercury Comet Custom Sportster Hardtop metallic turquoise
1965 Mustang convertible metalic barf green
1963 Plymouth Fury white, as was the smoke from the oil
1967 VW Beetle white
1976 VW Rabbit bright green
1972 Fiat metallic blue
1978-1/2 Honda CVCC Civic silver
1984 Mercury Marquis silver
2002 Mini Cooper red/white

While I was living at home, my parents had
1950 Ford Deluxe Six
1954 Ford Mainline Tudor burgundy
1955 Ford Fairlane powder blue/cream
1956 Mercury Custom (woody) green station wagon
1958 Edsel Pacer blue and cream
1960 Mercury Comet blue
1965 Mercury Monterey 4 door burgundy
1967 Dodge Charger fastback hardtop coupe yellow

As you can tell, we were a Ford family. The Edsel was the best car we ever had.

Uncle John,
You've had some great sports cars along the way! I had to do some Porsche research just to see what you had owned. BTW, a friend of mine has been know to say; "if you remember the 70's, you weren't there".

Mornin' John, Yeah, the 356s are the ones that got away. I bought the 60 Roadster in 1970, I was 22 and stationed at Randolph. paid 2k for it, did some interior work, replaced the top, drove it for two years and sold it for what I paid for it . . . Thought I was pretty clever. Right this minute, if it's still intact, it's worth more than the 3 cars we have now.

Have a great week.

Oh well, maybe a 2006 ZO6 will fill the need

1979 Pontiac Gran Prix
1982 Porsche 944-S
1982 Volvo 244
1992 MBZ 190-E
2004 MCS

Still have the two Porsches. The 944-S is currently awaiting an engine swap using an LS-1 (extensive MCS mods has put this project on hold for a while ). The 911-S is being full race prepped and it will live out its days off public streets.

  • 1978 Datsun B210 GX (doo-doo brown, 4 speed, no a/c, burned up radio, nature inspired floor--i.e. rust hole)--Ages 16-17, sold to a guy in west virginia for $500
  • 1978 Pontiac Trans Am (white, 4 speed, black honeycomb wheels, black hood scoop, lowered, headers, dual exhaust, 400ci torque monster--doughnuts came so easy, explains why i killed the motor so quickly)--Age 17, blown engine
  • 1979 Pontiac Firebird (red, automatic, and riddled with overheating problems, one fan setting for heat and a/c, almost voted worst car in high school)--Ages 17-18, donated to charity when i got the next car
  • 1985 Isuzu Impulse (dark blue, automatic, aircraft-esque gauges, LED lights and controls for driver and great center stack, 4 banger with rear wheel drive, retardedly loud stereo system, very cool at the time I had it, but helped me receive 4 speeding tickets, 1 reckless, in a year--can you say no license for two months?)--Ages 18-20, rear ended an old beater, totalled
  • 1988 Nissan Sentra SE Coupe (Red, 5 speed, nothing special, got me through school years, loud stereo system, helped me get my negative driving points back to normal)--Ages 20-25, gave to girlfriend who drove it until there was no oil left, broken rod
  • 1988 Honda Prelude Si (white, 5 speed, lowered, i/h/e, loved this car until I sold it in 2003, this is where i started tinkering with aftermarket stuff--i know, silly ricer :smile Ages 25-30, sold to college kid
  • 1994 Mazda MX-6 (5 speed, black, fun for a while, then got bored with it) Ages 25-26, sold
  • 2001 Honda Civic EX (blue, 5 speed, great commuter car for work) Ages 28-31, sold
  • 2004 MCS (by far my favorite car, purchased solely b/c i wanted a fun, quick, great looking car that was not at all functional-except for getting me where i want to go, oh, and it was after a 5 year relationship ended, not that i needed that reason)

These are mostly Aussie (named) cars. The Commodores are Australian designed and built cars...in fact...the VX commodore, in two door guise, you would know as the Pontiac GTO...

1989 Silver Mazda 323 Hatch-back (R.I.P)
1986 Green Holden VK Commodore Auto V6
(year?) Suzuki 3 cylinder 500cc lime green contraption (owned for one month! Sold for $80! )

2001 Black Holden Commodore VXII S 5sp manual 3.8l V6

My list of cars from my first car to my latest

1969 Ford Brougham. In 1980 my uncle gave me his off white Brougham, AKA The Love Boat. A solid tank of a car with a big @$$ engine. All I had to do was patch some rusted areas. It was mine until 1983 when it died. Lots of fun times had in the back seat, which was almost as big as my bed!

:impatient 1982 (?) Chevy Citation. My parents bought it used. It was a POS that I drove until 1985, when it too died. Thank God.

1985 Honda Civic CRX. My first new car and the first car I bought with my own money. I owned this vehicle until 1989 when I sold it because the company I worked for gave me a company car, some Ford POS sedan, but it was totally free to me.

 1993 Honda Civic 4-door. Was hit in accidents too many times.

 1997 Honda Civic 4-door. Was also hit in accidents too many times. Traded in after real bad experience with Honda body shop and service.

 1997 Saturn SL1. Was paid for after a year of ownership thanks to winning accident lawsuit. Saturn was totalled on the DC Capital Beltway in May of 2004. I was rear-ended. Law suit still pending.

2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. Great car for my 100 mile a day round trip commute from Ellicott City, MD to Reston, VA. I wanted a MINI, but there was a long waiting list and I needed a car right away. So I went for the hybrid. Talk about a plain vanilla, home boy, Mr. white guy urban and boring vehicle. Sure the mileage was great, but no MOJO!

July 20, 2005 - '05 CR/W MC YEAH BABY!

Since i'm only 20...

89 Silver Ford T-bird. Ran it to the ground... never changed the oil, and the power steering pump went out.

91 Red Miata. My beloved Babied the crap out of it, never dogged it out (although i wish i did) learned how to drive manual in it, and how to work on cars and did all my own maintenance, but then i got into an accident and bought my...

04 LY MINI.

Next car will be another 91 miata
