1980-something Nissan Pulsar NX. Had over 100K miles on it when I bought it. Rolled it in the snow a few months after I bought it; I pounded out the dents, replaced the windshield and it got me through college.
1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. A lot of fun but cable shifter was a pain.
1987 Dodge Dakota 4x4. Traded this to my mechanic for his '91 Escort and $1000. Rear diff went in it a few days after I traded it and he wanted me to pay for fixing it! He was the mechanic on it - how was I supposed to know it was gonna die?! Got me through a lot of snow, though.
1991 Ford Escort. Drove it with studded tires for a few years. You could hear me coming for miles!
1992 Mazda Protege. First new car! Absolutely bulletproof. Had it for 10 years and 220+K miles. Ended up giving it away.
1997 Jeep Cherokee 4x4. I liked it; my wife hated it.
1999 Olds Intrigue. Very nice car. Roomy, handsome, powerful, reliable.
2001 Chevy S-10 2WD. Bought from my boss. Piece of junk.
2003 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS. Not a bad SUV but sucks gas and underpowered. Still my wife's daily driver.
2005 MCS Auto. BRG/W. Awesome car. First real driver's car I ever owned.
2006 MCS JCW. Couldn't resist; had to trade the '05 for this baby after my first test drive.

Iho,

Except for the rebodied Pinto (Mustang II) me likes your list. Toy-Cruiser and Datsun 510 (a sleeper if there ever was one) compliment some fine Euro and Detroit products. I used to use both FJ-40s and FJ-45s in the third world. By far my favorite 4x4s.

Same here, that car was a pig. It would oversteer under any condition. I spent more time going backwards in that car than going forwards until I put 255/50-13 tires and 1.125" swaybars on.

The FJ-40 was even more special after I put in a 307 small block. I could tow a race car up a vertical wall with that thing.

Just purchased a 1996 Range Rover 4.6 HSE today as winter "beater". I know, I know, I know, not many kids get to call a Range Rover a beater. As soon as the snow starts to fall this year though I'll be ready... 15% Tints, Sunset Copper Metallic Paint Job, Front & Rear Brush Guard kit, 20 inch OZ Canyon Rims, and huge General Grabber tires. I think I'm gonna add a dope system(pun intended) to it for the ultimate "ghetto drug dealer" setup.

I'll need to add a winch too so I can pull all the hotties in their civics out of ditches.

My new winter pick up lines:
"Oh you poor thing, here let me pull you up close."
"No mam I'm not Superman, I know the good looks may fool you, I just drive a Range Rover... And I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express Last Night..."
"Oh it looks so cold out there, I don't have heated seats but u can sit on my lap."
"Now that I've saved u will u buy some cocaine off of me."
"That's right ur gonna have to listen to Barry White the entire time before the tow truck gets here."

Alright I'm up to three cars so I guess I can post on here now.

198? Nissan Terrano
2004 Mini Cooper
2005 Mini Cooper S

Been driving for five years now. Not too bad. For family cars refer to 2Miniacs' post.... I'm not listing all those again.

no sh*t! my first car was an 85 GLH-T that I ended up intercooling and doing a bunch of stuff (stripped int, koni shocks, springs, race trans, fully rebuilt engine) to before it started disassembling itself. apparently an omni wasn't meant to have 260hp

well... maybe that wasn't my first car. before I could drive I bought my dad's 81 280zx 2+2 but it rusted out before I could drive it. it was nice though.

then the GLH, which I loved and kept thru college

then an 89 chevy pickup 2wd (piece of crap, but my dad just gave it to me and I needed a second vehicle because of how much my GLH was apart)

in 2001 I got my first new car... a Honda S2000, yakuza blue with a custom blue top.

I sold that car to help pay for my GF's college and got a boring 93 Grand AM GT 4door Auto. yawn. very reliable, but absolutely no fun at all

I gave in around august and started looking for another fun car... once I found that I could get the MINI and still keep my payments where I needed them to save for a house and everything I was set. placed order in oct. and got blue in dec.

I must have been destined to own a MINI. My first car was an art car that I cut the roof out. It seems that I've been acting out my whole life. The greatest part was that I gutted out the center console and install a five gang switch panel for my accessories! You know for my strobe light, black light, and x-mas lights.

My new MINI brings back some fond memories.

My list may be short, but I make up for it by having a rare option on my EXP. Oscar (as I liked to call it since it was "trash can grey" and drove like one) doubled as a swimming pool everytime it rained. Since the floorboards were rotting out water would seep through and leave a 2 inch pool of water on the passenger. My only concern was I couldn't turn it on or off.

I think I like my Mini a bit more though :-).
