I would like to have my 68 Vette Back, and actually I am looking for one to buy before next spring. After going to a few Oldies car shows on Saturday nights at the Chatterbox in NJ it was fun just to hang out and talk old school trash from the Muscle car error.
I've only been without it for a month or so, but I already miss it! Sold it when I bought the MINI because I can't really afford to insure two toys at once. 2000 CBR600 F4. Quick bike, lots of fun.
I wish I still had my classic Mini. It was a '63 Morris Mini Minor, with a 1275 cc Austin America motor and trans. in it. It had a side draft Weber carburetter, the velocity stacks stuck out of the speedometer hole! I lowered it and I made some steel fender flairs to cover the 13x 11" wheels. They didn't have 50 series tires then, so I ran dry track racing tires on it.

My white '95 FD Mazda RX-7. Aside from a Porsche, nothing I've ever driven...or even been in...feels like that car. It is THE right combination of power and handling in a sports car. When people here say that their MINIs are the best cars they've ever owned, I always just smile and take comfort in knowing they've never driven an FD.
The one I had was a clean, low-mileage, unmolested example, that looked and ran flawlessly (despite known reliability issues with the sequential twin turbos), but I ended up selling it when I bought my house because I needed the $$. If I knew then how much...and for how long...I would miss that car, I would not have bought the house!!

I really don't wish I still had my 04 Spec V but it would be nice to have it. My 94 GMC Sonoma was nice becuase it was decked to the hilt and was a low mileage truck at the time I owned which 01 to 04 it all of 80k when I got rid of it. But other then that the 87 Bronco II and 93 Sentra I could care less about.
Most people who know me would think I would say my 66 427 Vette Coupe, 4 speed a am/fm and poer nothing. They would be wrong. Was great to own for awhile but my true love beside my current Maserati GT Coupe was my 1995
Pontiac Firehawk Black 6 Speed I ordered from the factory. Had an SPL factory exhaust which was outlawed after one year of production. Was loud when you got on it but in 6th on the road it was a kitten. Had later cars that were 10 to 20 MPH faster (Z06) through the same corner but not near as much fun. Just something about that straight axel , Small block ram air induction motor coming at you sideways rears smoking, Dual exhaust screamiing and the front end pointed high! Put 70K hard miles that car and she never let me down. Top attained speed on isolated dessert test road-157 MPH. Mid 13 1/4's all day long on street tires. Drop some drag slicks on and
your low 12's but you will break the rear end. Might be a conntection to ordering a car too. Hope I have the same bond with my JVC on order.
Wife asked what it would take for the Maserati to surpass the Firehawk as my all time favorite car. After 1/ 1/2 years of ownership I would say long term reliability now and a few notches under her belt. Ie. on one of her first drives with many paddle shift exotic cars she rocked the twisties with a stick and left many in her wake. She not only sounded good with her Larini exhaust
but looked good running always with the computer traction control off.
Using the throttle to drift the rear end on hot corners is something the big AWD Lambo's just can not do. Ok I need to got take her for a ride since it is sunny and not raining today.

Hmm, this is a toughie... i'd have to say i really miss my 93 FD rx7. Like Ell said, those things are just simply perfect. The 50/50 weight ratio makes cornering a breeze, the rotary sounds amazing, and it's just probably my overall favorite 2 seater...
I don't want any of my old cars back permanently, but I'd like to drive some of them again to see if they're really as I remember them. Time seems to distort memory.

5-lug swap, SN95 seats... Nice Fox!
It's true, the 13-BREW (FD twin turbo rotary engine) did tend to be tempermental..."fragile" is more likely the word, but the one I had had no issues at all. Sugar-coat it any way you want if you've never owned one, because for those who have: there's the FD and then there's everything else!
Even those who've had the dreaded engine failures consider it just part of the cost of semi-supercar ownership...citing how much more expensive maintaining a real supercar would be. These are otherwise reasonable people...imagine how they LOVE these cars!
BTW, for those who might be wondering: The newer (and widely available) RX-8 is no substitute...

Ive owned 2 different mazdas, a protege 5 and 08 Mazdaspeed 3 that have done me very very well. Really regret trading the speed3 in for the legacy that I have now. Went and looked at a mini today at the dealership and really really liked it.
Seems like a cool car, just not what we were looking for at the time.
