Yeah, I can see where they were going, but it is kinda weird. I do like being able to alter the aerodynamics of the car for different kinds of driving. I like being able to make the headlights go away, and the way the tail lights work. But.......on a practical level I don't know. I figure this is just one of those experiments that'll wind up in a museum and the designers just had to get it out of their system.
There is a video of this car that you have to watch, the headlight wink is amazing, actually the way the whol car changes shape is amazing. Very cool concept.

Maybe....but I don't see how you'd actually be able to work on anything in the engine bay. In that case, not so exciting.

I think it is amazing and not that far out when you consider that stretching a fabric over a substructure has been utilized in aircraft construction sense the begining!! Back to the future.
Well, if you can "re-skin" the entire car in two hours, there may be a provision for temporarily loosening/removing part of the fabric skin if you need to do something under the hood that's more involved than just routine maintenance.
It wouldn't surprise me if there were a little adolescent humour going on there. If you listen to Bangle's explanation of what "GINA" supposedly stands for, the acronym sounds a little awkward and strained - even accounting for a translation from German for one or more of the terms. I thought so *before* I caught on to the "other" possible reference, and now that someone pointed that out to me, I'm really wondering.
I guess a telling point will be if one of the designers/engineers ever slips up and pronounces it "jyna" instead of "jeena".

I just saw this on the Road & Track site.
I was thinking Zepplin, especially if it's hydrogen powered.
Wouldn't have to wax it either.
