and rode in the Evo MR (dual clutch auto). Both are very, very capable cars. So much so, that I really doubt that you'd be able to push them to the point of differentiation on the street. Can't go wrong with either....
I agree completely Matt. The levels of both of these cars is so high that you can only sort the difference out on the race track. I like the Subaru, but either car is a hairy chested beast.
Mini needs to pick up it's game, the gap between what Mini is offering and what others are offering is narrowing. Over-option a Mini, and there are lots of cars I'd buy instead.

I drove a Hyundai Sonata LTD, and it's as good a 4 door car in its segment. Their SUV came out 2nd in a 5 way shootout, and in speaking with the Genesis product manager, it will be a good value as well.
