My first car was a late 60's Toyota Corona Coupe .Went quick thru the canyons ,easy to repair ,good on gas and reliable. On cold mornings I'd have to shove a rag in the carborator to get it started .The automatic choke began to stay on to long so I replaced it with a manual .I sold it to a girl who sang with Noel Paul Stokey's when he wasnt with Mary and Peter. Then I got a VW Rabbit and had nothing but trouble ,went back to Toyota's after that for a couple of decades .
I forgot how big that long block straight 6 from the old Z's was. The new V6 fits in there so well! That takes me back to my Dad's 81 280ZX that he passed along to me when I was in college-some good memories!
Is the carbon 72 Honda a pikes peak runner? Looks like it's set up for that.

Before the supra was its own model it shared its platform with the celica. They had a mk1 and mk2 the supra became its own model in 1986.5. The cars were way ahead of there time. Dam hard to find them with out rust. I have had a few and they always ran 220k miles.
Ian - you need to take a look through the Cars and Coffee posts or the cncpics.com gallery, there is nearly always a Supra or two on display...
Having owned both '71 510 and later a '72 240z, I am partial to the datsun heritage. They were great cars in their day. I haven't has as much fun with any car since... UNTIL owning my '06 JCW MCS.
This is what they looked like in 85

According to this, they were out in 79. Don't really recall them that far back though

When my Dad was shopping for his 280ZX in 81 (which later became mine) I can remember test driving a brownish gold and black supra just the 85 above. Dad like the Datsun better and I think the dealer better-the Toyota dealer here has always been sketchy.

That's nuts. Sure looks like a Pikes Peak contender.
