Cars and Coffee 10.6.2007
In an attempt to make these posts a little more 56K accessible, I made a call for help in the editing and sorting department, so Ladies, Gentlemen and Things, please welcome the new photo editor, Don Suiter
This is therefore the first week that
a) I am not posting every single photo
b) I had a (huge) hand in the posting.
This weekend is a very, very busy weekend for car shows - CnC was poorly attended for once, however there still managed to be some amazing hardware on display.

Max takes some really interesting pictures. I hope he posts the link to his other photo opportunity of the Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach. Nice set of pictures.
Thanks Crashton, it was fun sorting it down.

Japanese Classic Car _ click MaxN's sig . were it says photographs .
Cool stuff! I like the scope of classic rods to modern supercars.
So whats the story with that red GT40ish car? Is that a "real" one from the 60s or someones kit car version?
I still haven't made this event, what a dork!

Nice pics Max and nice editing Don-looks like a good team!
Hey Korby, is that you in pic 2 and if so, where did you get the Peet's??? I'm an addict of the Major Dickensons blend and being on the east coast I either have to mail order it or have a flight connect through Cincinnati/N. Kentucky where there is a Peet's-why it's in Northern Kentucky is beyond me, it's the ONLY Peet's not in the west.

That is not Korby - it is my friend Bryn. He is a freelance journalist, writer of articles for many UK magazines. He stayed with us on Friday and Saturday night and we did a couple of car shows - the Japanese one he was commissioned to cover, CnC he wanted to go to because he is a petrol-head.
Bryn is half way through a 3-month tour and is currently down in San Diego interviewing yet another crazy car builder, then back up to OC to meet up with a tripple/quad rotor turbo nut, then on to Ventura to see a Carbon Fibre 600, then.......
You get the idea.

I really appreciate the feedback - I promise to leep posting the pics until I get zero comments
The Black Beast with the large fins I believe is a Chrysler 300F or one of the 300 series, big fast and heavy but what a cruiser. The plate says 67 but look on google for a 67 Chrysler and you do not see those fins, so not sure why it is plated other than a Calif. Black Plate. I may be wrong, I have been before.

The GT40's owner told me that it is a Mk1 GT40 which has a number of modern 'upgrades', but he has all of the original parts safe.
Hopefully he will be at a future one so I can get some detail pics.

The only colors for an enzo are flat black or blood red.....
Kurt - that is disgusting !
You should be ashamed
Anyway - my real reason for this post is to report my detective job on the GT40.
Apparently it is not real - it is a Superperformance GT40 -
Now this is not a bad thing at at - they are 2/3rds 'real' and elligable for the Gt40 register, but telling me that it is real ?
well thats just no on.....

But it does still look sweet and I'm sure it sounds awesome. Thanks for doing the detective work.
I thought the Enzo was also available in yellow? And what the Hell kind of crack money do you have to have to get your Enzo painted a different color?
