Jeep Wrangler
Different year models, mine is a yj, newer than 95 i believe are yj, older body style amc cj, then there are scramblers, I saw a new one with the scrambler body style that was just awesome
cj's go from 86 back to I think the 50's. cj5, cj6, cj7 cj8 (scrambler) nd I think there was a few others. Before that there was the MB series. The YJ went from 87 to 95. Tj is from 97 to 06? I think. Now they have gone to something different, The cherokee is a xj, liberty is kj and so on. They signify the different models and years.
From what I've read the "CJ" stood for Civilian Jeep and started with the CJ-2 A buddy of mine had one in SC-6volt generator, basic as can be. His is a 51 or 52 and looks like it was plucked from the battlefield and painted brick red. Prior to that they were MJ's (military jeep) and the military versions continued that formula. I think the Screambler was a CJ-8 in Jeep speak. The newer "J"s don't seem to follow any kind of pattern- the newst version is the JK.

thats right, cj=civilian jeep, the older ones are MB series, the mj I believe is the 80's cherokee truck thing, cant remember the name. Jeepforum.com is a great source for all this info. If you have a jeep or just want some info on them, search around that site, lots of info and history on jeeps .
you can find a yj for relatively cheap, if you are serious look for a 92-95. Preferably 95 as they went to a stronger ujoint on the front dana 30, and you wont have the issues with the earlier 87-91 transmissions and carborators.
well i have recently found one that may just be perfect for what im looking for, i found a white 87. and it has a plow! which i was going to put on to begin with...make some extra cash in the winter to go to the mini!
