Cars & Coffee 5-05-07

This week was Ferrari marque. About 75+ showed up. The weather was incredible and the overall turnout was big. This is going to be an insane summer for Cars and Coffee if we are having turnouts like this right now. I'll bet we'll hit 600+ cars at this casual event this summer.

Max, that must have happened shortly after I left. What a tool. Are you serious about them canceling the event? This guys name should be posted on every forum. What a tool. the sign reads no burn-outs right in the photo. Did people yell at this idiot for what he did?

It was a pleasure meeting you Max and SideAche Too. Sideache's Mini looks even better IRL if that's possible. I am still amazed at the gathering of super exotic to fairly normal cars and that it's a casual gathering every Saturday is simply unbelievible! If anyone ever find themselves in Orange Co.Ca on a Saturday-do not miss this show! Thanks again for the invite and the coffee Max, I do hope the tool in the cobra kit doesn't ruin it!

Max, Did you get any head on shots of the Mercedes CLK-AMG-DTM?

I was blown away by that thing and the guy that ownes it-he looked like your average nice Grandfather on holiday- loud hawiian shirt et al! For everyone else- this is a ultra rare and expensive CLK coupe that MB had to produce to compete in the DTM series. They only made 100 and this was #33. It had a carbon fiber interior, roll cage- leather wrap carbon Sparco seats, racing belts, factory(or AMG race works) wide body kit, blown 5.5 ltr V8,paddle shift trans, diffusers, spoilers, etc (all carbon fiber)---and the guy drove it to the show on the Freeway! no legal in CA-he has one time trip permits and no telling how much $$ but I seriously doubt I will ever see another one outside a museum.--oh yeah there was also a F1 Ferrari and and a leMans Prototype Ferrari and other -even more rare cars all over the lot!

Had to get past all those silly red cars before I came to something I really liked... the MGA!

Does Jay Leno ever attend?

I'll Max chime on on Leno- it wouldn't surprise me. It's funny you mentioned getting past the Ferrari's--it is an overload of them and actually gets- I don't know if it's boring- or just too much to take in but you tend to look over something that if you saw it anywhere else it would gather a crowd. A good example is when Max and I were looking around- he's a great guide BTW- and we saw this really clean series I Spitfire-just about perfect. We're looking it over and totally missed the Aston-Martin Vantage beside it. We stepped back and both said whoa-how did I miss that?! Ferrari was the featured marque of the day and it was well represented but it did look like a very large Ferrari dealership in places. I'm not sure how many Ferrari's are sold in the USA each year but it looked like about half of them where there.

WTF!!?? WTF!!??? WTF!!?? Why can't I get this here? A show where a CLK-DTM shows up along with a whole contigent of Ferrari's including the F2007!!!??? WTF!??? Oh yeah, the retards around here would want to race them in their lifted F-350s or try to touch them. Morons in my area don't have any respect for a work of automotive art like those cars.

WOW! What awesome participation. Were they raffling off a new Ferrari to get this crowd?

Years ago I got a ride in a 330 GTC just like that one.
