Wild Mouse Mini No More
Gromit801,
California is a BIG state with a lot of area to cover. Although there are several great clubs in Northern California, there may still be room for another in Manteca. Don't throw the towel in too soon. You had some good ideas. I thought your Pub Night flyer was great.
I see you may be moving to NV soon. If it doesn't work in CA, then either join Sierra Nevada MMINs ( a Great Club with lot of fun people) or if you are too far away, start yours again.
Good luck.

Gromit801,
I can not speak for other clubs, but I do know many had runs outside of the SF Bay Area and Sacramento Valley.
However last year REME held runs in Auburn, Nevada City, Reno, Carson City, Ft. Bragg, Mendecino, the Delta, Shasta-Trinity-Lassen, Lake Tahoe, Santa Cruz Mountains.
This year REME has planned runs along the entire Northern Ca Coast (Lighthouse Tour) starting on the Oregon boarder, Our 2nd annual Shasta run which will take us up to Yreka, Yosemite and Kings Canyon, to name a few.
Many of us plan to go to Las Vegas for AMVIV, and many drove portions of MTTS.
These events were not limited to SF or Sacto. Many of us want to drive new routes and see new places. Don't let a slow start ruin your passion.
Enough said. Good Luck

I realize that most people would want to drive their cars. I'm a car club guy going back to 1975, with a LOT of British car club experiance.
I just have neither the time, inclination, or energy to push a club alone.
We plan to be involved in autocrossing next year, and if I had some REAL support besides "keep me informed" emails, I might have kept on with it.
It's done as far as I'm concerned, and others can certainly do whatever feels good to them, I just won't be putting the effort out to make it happen for folks who won't even answer an e-mail asking them what kind of events they want.

been there
I KNOW exactly how you feel. I started Sierra Nevada Mini Coopers in September of 2005 by chasing down all the minis ( nine of them) in the area and putting notes on the windshield. Two minis showed plus me. Mr.Econ still comes to just about every event and is our unofficial semi pro photographer. He has made us up little business cards and is so positive on our runs. Weevegee is also part of us regularly but goes to the bay area just about every month , because he can!!!! We have formed some great relationships here and have anywhere from 4 to 11 of us for runs and events. I put a lot of time and effort in it and work full time at the hospital too. But I sure LOVE my mini and I love to drive it. I almost did a car clinic at the racetrack with my husband's BMW club. I will be putting our newsletter on line next year and watch our site too. Pahrump is kind of in the middle of western NV but we may see you up here in the big city. I have put at least 30 cards on minis and the response is slow so it's not strange. I won't give up but I do get more help now from members too. It's slow but sure. Watch our site, Lisa aka rainbow blue
Glad to hear you'll be able to join up with other enthusiasts soon. Too bad it didn't work out. I was part of the start up of the DAMM group (only 3 MINIs at the first event, they mix with other FL clubs but most of our meets were just a handful of MINIs getting together somethimes very last minute. I was the only active one on NAM so I keep thier forum semi updated as means to inform others in the area as NAM is where I met another motoer to get things started in the forst place. It takes the will of many for a group movement, hopefully you'll find things more pleasant in NV.

We had a great run with Central Coast Coopers last weekend in the North Fork area.
