In order to:
1. Camp out on site at the Monterey Historics
2. Catch the beach party
3. Make it to Santa Barbara
4. Make it to Las Vegas
5. Make it to my track days at Reno-Fernley

with all my camping gear and trackday gear, I will have to tow Sad Arthur behind my pickup. So I'll need help fashioning an appropriate tiara. Any ideas?

I am signed up and I have the week off. I am planning to go to Vegas and then head north to Reno/Fernley for a track day the next weekend.

Sounds like we have the same program. I'm going up through the Great Basin in Nevada to Reno and have scheduled a few days at the Atlantis to play poker before Bonni's two day event.

I guess I should have clarified a bit better - we are starting off in Monterey - the first leg of the trip and ending in Vegas...

Sounds like it. I am still pondering my route. I am considering going through Zion park. I am looking forward to running the full track at Fernley. I just heard from my brother that he is entered in the Historics. I posted a picture of his car here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=73585

If anyone is interested in joining Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts for our club dinner, we will meet up on Sunday night, 7 PM, at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. on the Wharf. Email me so I can include you on the list.

See you all in Monterey!

It's real nice. Quite a poke east from LV though, as you can see on the map, but has some spectacular scenery. I'll be towing so I'm taking a shorter route. Haven't decided yet either. Maybe 95 through Death Valley to 395 in the pre-dawn hours, then north on 395 to Reno.. It should be cooler going through the high sierra.

Yeah, now I am leaning towards exploring Nevada and taking a more direct route. I don't think I will have enough time to spend in the Utah parks. I am reading up on places to visit, like some of the historic sites.

I went ahead and took the whole week off, so my drive back on Thurs. *should* be leisurely... but then again, the Cannonball Run back from AMVIV rocked!!!

The words Nikki, motoring, and leisurely can never exist in the same sentence (unless you are telling a lie )

Maybe we should have the CHP give out tickets before we leave. Save them the trouble . I have the "invisability" sticker on the Escape Pod, so they won't see me . We'll see if it works

If you have the whole week off then you should join us at Fernley over the weekend. You can have a "leisurely" drive up north on the east side and then make up for it on the track and zip over the Sierras on the way home and it's not far out of the way.

Me and my two co-pilots are breaking off at LV, heading over to the dam, looping around the Grand Canyon, spending the day at Zion, then we'll drive back over highway 50, spend the night at my friend's cabin in Arnold. We'll be back on Sunday just in time for my co-pilots to attend their first day at school on Monday!
I can't wait!!

That sounds like a great trip. I have been working out the times and distances for my trip and trying to decide the route. I am also planning to go on Highway 50 in Nevada and go over the Sierras on Sunday. I plan to be in Fernley by Friday evening. Still deciding how far east to go.

Michael, Let me know where you are during your journey. It would be great to hook up and drive 50 together. We also have access to a cabin off of highway 4 that we use as a pit stop for ou trips to/from Nevada. You have my cell #?
