My brother Mark is entering and driving a 1960 Cooper T53 F1 car in the Historics at Monterey this year. His car is identical to the one that Jack Brabham drove to the 1960 World Championship. I will be driving there in my Mini Cooper to spectate and cheer Mark on. I told him about all the Mini that are coming. If you are there stop by and say hi and root for Mark when he races. He has entered the Historics several times and is a top finishing driver so this should be fun to watch. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Very cool that your bro is a participant in the Monterey Historics, especially so this year as Cooper is the honoured marque. I imagine that Mark will be up against some of the original F1 piloti, wish him well from all of us. Doubt I can attend as y'all are on the other end of the continent, but I'll be sure to catch the Historics on Speed TV.

 

I hope there will be some F1 drivers from years gone by. That would make it more fun. Brian Redman turns up for the Historics. In 1997 he and my brother put on a good show when the GT40 was the featured marque. I'm not sure who from the Cooper era is driving at vintage events.

Yes he is in La Jolla, in San Diego County.

 

I went to the Pre-Historics yesterday. The car my brother is driving has been repainted and has #75. Here they are setting it up. He finished 3rd in the pre-race after only one practice session in the car. Pretty fun racing.
