Hate to dig this thread up but...

Next time someone says "hey let's motor down road X, it's freshly paved!" just say "NO!" I spent over an hour Saturday trying to get all the asphalt bits off my brand new rims. The insides are still coated, but at least the outsides are clean again.

Or at least get a definitive definition of 'freshly paved' and compared it with freshly patched poorly" I lucked out, MINI scrubbed my Rims for me while I was in for service

Yeah, I spent the day doing the same thing! Took a long time getting all that crap off. I washed and did a touch up waxing on the Escape Pod after the run. That road WAS paved last year. Don't know where all that patching-up crap came from . I guess somebody didn't do it right the first time .

PS~Nice rims!

Had I proceeded beyond our pull-away point, my wife may likely have 'freshly paved' the backseat of my MINI herself. GAH.

Actually, your wife made it through the worst(best) of it in terms of stomach-churning twisties. The cruise up Hwy1 would have given her stomach time to settle before lunch.

If she likes ginger I hear it helps

Nikki, does this mean you have an aero kit AND a set of rims sitting in your living room? If you stack 'em by twos, they make good end tables.

You know how HARD it was to drive like 15mph gently all the way back to the freeway? Contents tend to settle during shipment, etc.
