Huh? Irish coffees before the run? Or do they serve food there, too?

The Buena Vista sounds good. Can you say "one Irish coffee, please?"

After Jim's suggestion, I did a search on best, San Francisco, breakfast and came up with Mel's!! Great car/breakfast theme.

Mel's Drive-In
2165 Lombard St, San Francisco, CA 94123 · 415-921-3039
Description: MARINA DISTRICT. Mel's sports charming '50s-style decor and serves traditional breakfast eats that can't be beat. The smell of sizzling sausage draws diners to this all-American favorite, and tasty hotcakes and eggs keep them coming back time and again. Table-top jukeboxes entertain while the waitstaff scurry to keep up with patron requests. Mel's also boasts an interesting fact – "American Graffiti" was filmed here.

This place would look great decorated with 4-5 Minis in the parking lot!

Does that mean we were being irrational??
You told me that we were just spiritedly motoring! 152 was fun... (the highway, not the speed... )

I would lead but I never know what speed I should be going...like..when I had a bimmer and went to bimmer meets...well they were very very spirited...do a search on your favorite illegal file downloading app. I mean peer 2 peer

So ya, I dunno what speeds you guys want to drive at, so I don't like leading, but i'll ride second or third with a radio and my radar

I was going to suggest Mels on Lombard. There are plenty of great places to get a good breakfast, but not many have parking or are on the way and can serve you quickly. Buena Vista is a great after the drive kind of place.

I will volunteer to take the lead on Fairfax-Bolinas Road since I have been down it a time or two and kind of remember the trickey corners. Besides it is a slow road so not much chance of any undue attention.

We could rotate ride leaders if other people like a certain section of road and want to step up.

OK, Nikki! Sounds like this is going to be a fun day with whatever "spirit" we're running! I much prefer twisties to straightaways anyhow!

P.S. Hi, Lidia!!

Breakfast at Mel's sounds good. If we are going there, count us in.

I've been wanting to do a nikki ride for a while but you guys get up so early... (i'm a chef and get home around 1 or 2 am) but I will drag my a$$ out of bed for this. this is my usual day off run, though I go up lucas valley rd to marshall. If you guys are interested, I know one of the owners of hog island oyster co, and I can see if we can get a picnic table for us to shoot some oysters on the way. I would need a final count b4 we go. I'm familiar w/most of the streets and sidestreets in this 'hood, so i can take the lead anytime you want. just make sure you can keep up........

Yum Hog Island Oysters

Now this sounds good, count me in on this. It would also be a good stop and turn around spot. I’m hoping to be able to make this one.

Oh yes! I'm definitely up for some oysters but I don't know if we will have the time to make this stop. What's your estimate on the amount of time to get in and out at Hog Island?

Ooo, oysters, I'd love to be able to try that - I've driven by there so many times and wondered how they were

I'm gonna see what I can do to make it and deal with the fact peeps (the yellow ones and people I guess ) are coming over later that day. Mel's isn't a bad idea but as a tourist draw it can be kinda crazy and has a pretty bad parking lot.. will see if we can come up with other suggestions too.

Also, be careful out in the back roads - although some police use radar others don't and just hide out behind shrubbery and whatnot, ready to pounce (and due to the Sunday Rides they can be out in force).

Okay Gang, an oyster stop would be fun, however there are 2 things to consider:

1. There isn't much parking at Hog Island Oyster Co.
2. We have lunch reservations at William Tell House in Tomales for 12 noon - the restaurant is opening especially for us, so we shouldn't be late.

Speaking of lunch...

***IMPORTANT***
William Tell House has graciously agreed to open just for our group during this event and they're offering a special lunch menu as well:

Clam chowder, a turkey sandwich on focaccia bread with pesto and tomatoes, mixed green salad and ending with chocolate truffle bars and fruit for $12.50 per person (beverages not included)

Please RSVP to me with your total number of attendees via PM NO LATER THAN April 7th. If you do not RSVP, you are not guaranteed a lunch. (Also let me know if vegetarian meals are needed for you or your guest(s).)
***IMPORTANT***
