Recommended a windshield installer please..ne???

It's that time finally after 3 years. I'd prefer to have the windshield replaced by someone who's already worked on a MINI.
I did a search, but nothing came up.

TIA

By the way, you may want to put Edgeguard on right after getting the new window just to cya. See Loki's post about it here:

Seems to help prevent the edge fractures we are so prone to - couldn't hurt anyway

While your car is being done you can always walk down the block for BMW and Hummer test drives

I used Safelite Autoglass. Most of their windshields they manufacture themselves, but not for the MINI. When talking with the guys, it turns out that PPG is Safelite's supplier for windshields (the PPG logo does not appear on the glass, but I'm too busy driving to notice.

My install with PPG was about $320-330 - you might be able to get some off for 2.
Manteca, where's that?

Good question ? I go east from work in Oakland at night for an hour . When I get rid of my kids for the third time I'm coming back to the bay.

I would definitely reccommend Total Eclipse over Safelite autoglass. I had my first replacement windshield done by Safelite in the parking lot at my job. Yes it was convienent, but a couple of months later the front piece of black trim flew off while I was driving down the freeway. Also back then (2004) they would get a OEM windshield from the dealer. I just don't think there workers, know how the replace the windshield on the MINI. I had my second windshield done at Total Eclipse and they were fantastic. The are right next to a BMW dealership and are very experienced working on MINIs. They did the job right including putting the removing and putting the trim on properly. They are open on Saturday and make a nice day trip. My husband followed my up in his car and we went hiking at Muir Woods while they worked on my car. they also do window tinting, something I may have had them do if I would have known in advance.

I need to get mine replaced also, but will wait until after AMVIV to see if it gets worst. Hasen't moved in months now. I think I will go to Total Eclipse, seems to be the best.

Every Safelite Shop is different when it comes to experience. I went to the one on Stevens Creek Blvd near Bascom. The installer said he has done many MINI windshields and knew what he was doing. We even taped all the trim edge down and advised I leave the tape on until the end of the day if I was going on the freeway(which I was). He wanted to make sure the adhesive for the trim pieces cured.

Sorry you had a bad experience with Safelite.
