Thought... was there a no-right turn sign? Maybe that's the violation?

 

Well, the letter of the law is that you have to come to a complete stop at a red light, then yield to everything possible, before turning - perhaps because the brake lights were not illuminated prior to the crosswalk line they concluded that a complete stop was not achieved (or if it was it was in the crosswalk which is another no-no). If its a red arrow I don't think you are permitted to turn when its red unless there is a sign saying you can - I'm not sure though.

Lots of right turn on red info on the web - didn't realize it was such a contentious issue at times and was supposedly created in the 70s as a gas saving measure (?).

 

I'm sorry they sent it in 2 letters, one was the ticket and then a few days later the pictures.

 

Actually in Fla. you have to stop before the stop bar painted on the pavement. Most people don't even recognize those. I lost a Mot because client had rolled over the stop bar. I always "tag in" there (quick stop) before "rounding the bases" now.
