OT: but same dealer forgot to tighten one of my tie-rod nuts when they replaced the leaky steering rack, +1000 miles later steering was making noise turning at slow speeds, popped off the wheels and saw the loose nut. Took it in, they checked it out and tightened it... complained a few times over a few thousand miles that steering wasn't the same, they didn't find anything wrong. At the last scheduled service they said my tires were cupped, they said it was my fault. I then took the car to a BMW Independant to have them do an alignment, found to be off spec.

Since the brake fluid reservoir is at the same level as when I left the dealership I'm suspecting that they didn't bleed the brakes.

They picked up the car over an hour ago and I'm still waiting for a loaner.
They gave me a Neon last time ... now that's a car that'll make you miss your MINI!

If you mash on the brake peddle and nothing happens, its probably lack of bleeding. If you have fluid in your resvoir, then its probably something else. Its possible to change pads and not have to bleed the brakes. Something seems a miss...

Ok, You guys are scaring me. I have to take my MINI in Wed for a loud ticking/pinging noise coming from the fan/front of engine .I'm afraid of having to leave it there and get a Enterprise rental. Last one I got was a Hundai Talk about a tin can, I felt so unsafe in that car. But I hope they are able to fix the problem so I don't have to go back a second time. Took me 4 weeks to get an appointment. Still going Sunday though.

Looks like the in-laws are planning to drop by in the morning . Don't know if we are going to make it now with them coming over. Going to try. If we don't make it, you all have a great time! I'll meet up with you another time !

What a great day! Great to see those I've met and great to meet those I've not. Maybe Lick Observatory in a few weeks?

A great day with great company.

Here's the line of MINIs at the stop light heading up hill on highway 9

The parking lot at Johnnie's Super in Boulder Creek

At Carpo's in Santa Cruz

I think it's time to pick up that rear sway bar.

See ya!

Hey guys sorry I flaked out yesterday, went to the Green Day concert the night before and burnt myself out.
I'll catch up with you all on the next run, hopefully during the same kind of weather. Peace guys/gals

Yeah, James & Lyle - you BOTH missed a great day of motoring! We had perfect weather and a few really good, long stretches of *****-to-the-walls twisties!

Thanks all for coming out to play and to Brian for that great route up Alba and down into Santa Cruz!

I'll check out the calendar and get something going for mid-October.

See you next time!

P.S. Thanks for the great pics, Brian!

They gave me a Chevy pick-up for the weekend - put it to good use.

Picked up the car this afternoon - found that they forgot to tighten the L/R bleeder screw. They re-bled the brakes and it is working fine now. They appologized like crazy.
