MINI Corral at the Infineon LeMans GP!
MINI Corral at the Infineon LeMans GP!
Attention race fans.... Mark your calendars for a MINI / Mini corral at Infineon Raceway during the LeMans GP of Sonoma on July 18.
Enjoy special discount pricing, priority corral parking and a chance to drive your MINI / Mini on the track Sunday (there will be a drawing for the limited slots available for the parade laps - provided we have enough cars PRE-REGISTERED)!. If we have any chance of doing the parade laps, we need enough pre-registered cars - so please order your tickets now! Parade laps are subject to adequate number of cars AND scheduling availability on the day of the race...
Enjoy the race with fellow MINI / Mini owners. Pre-register with Brad Lawrence at 707-933-3939 or email blawrence@infineonraceway.com.

Hi Ken,
I was planning on going to this because I wanted to do the parade laps/track tour. On your site is says "All entrants in the Mini Corral are invited to participate in the TRACK TOUR parade laps on Sunday", but you have now posted that there will be a drawing to see who can go on the track? Which one is it? I not trying to be rude, but I was very excited to get to drive on such a famous track (even if it was just a parade lap).
I was also wondering if you have to have a four point harness and a helmet to do parade laps? If you could clarify I would greatly appreciate it

I put mine in the MazdaExtremefest show so I am guaranteed the parade laps. Plus it was only $35 for the car and 2 people. I had 4 people that wanted to go, so I entered both cars.

Coopersport,
We 'plan' on doing parade laps/track tours, however this is subject to 'track availability' on the day of the event, and may be limited to a set number of cars (thus the drawing).
There are many clubs represented at this event, and all want to do parade laps. Priority (track availability) is set by the track organizer based on number of cars pre-registered, and the time available between races. This won't be finalized until the day of the event - and is subject to change - ie. if a car dumps oil on the track during a race, and they need the time to clean the track , then all parades are suspended.
As you can see, our best bet is to get as many cars as possible PRE-REGISTERED! This gives us the best chance of doing parade laps...
Stock street cars are fine for the parade / tour laps as they are 'controlled' laps behind a pace car.

I registered today. It should be a good time. I am looking forward to seeing some other minis out there, meeting some new people, watching some great racing, and really hoping we get to do some parade laps!
Best way to order tickets for the corral is to call Infineon at 1-800-870-7223, extension 153 and ask for Mini club corral tickets.

Hi Ken,
It was good meeting you. I had a good day at the races and the parking was great. I didn't get a chance to talk to many owners but the ones I was able to speak to I had good conversations with. Are you going to have spot set up at Laguna Seca in October?

Ken,
I spoke to Mike about some of the mods he made using mini mania parts. He was very pleased with the results. Once our car is sufficient broken in I might be making some of the same purchases.
