What is going on the day before? HOD event?

 

I don't know about HOD yet, but I would assume so. Davis has always held one the day before. If so I am hopeful that we can work out a discount program for those that want to attend HOD. I will post when I hear.

Signed up for MINI Thunder V and the track day on Sat. Just put new pads on the front and I am flushing the brake system and getting new fluid. Hoping for dry weather but it really doesn't matter. Missed last year so looking forward to my 3rd TH trip. Just move the MINI to AZ so might have a couple of track days before TH. Might need some new sticky rubber before TH. The tires I have now have about 8 hard track sessions on them. I think they have 2 more in them at best.

 

MINI Thunder V is an HPDE (High Performance Driving Event). We have a beginner, intermediate, and advanced group + coaches/race prepared. We schedule 5 ea. 20 minute track session. The track session are followed by classroom sessions. We do not use transponders or do timing as that is not permitted by our insurance. However you can record whatever times or data on your own. All beginners are assigned in-car coaches. We have set a limit of 35 cars per group. We already have a full beginner group and have about 5 openings left in intermediate. The advanced group is about half full at this time. We do expect to have all groups full in the near future. Spectators are free and if you have a Mini Cooper you will be allowed to do parade laps at lunch. You will also be able to take demo hot laps with instructors and advanced students.
