The Grapevine
I was wondering if anyone out there has drvien their MINI over the grapevine yet? I am an October Build of a IB/IB MC CVT but I am getting the Navigation system and so will be losing the temp guage for the engine in the process and was wondering if anyone out there has driven their Mini over the Grapevine, and if so how did it perform, and any problems with overheating?
Thanks
Thanks
Drove it about 12 times when I first got my MINI, made 6 trips to Southern California before moving to Colorado. MINI does very well here in the high altitude. We've had many CVT's in the mountains on some drives and they do very well. The Grapevine will be nothing for yours.
I've driven it several times...even in 100 degree heat and Wanda was perfect! I had the a/c on and was powering up the 'Vine...looked down and was going...um...way too fast!!
You shouldn't have any trouble! Happy motoring!
p.s. Where are my manners??

My MCS also has Nav, thus no temp gauge. I have never had an overheating problem, even flying up the Grapevine in 100 degree weather with the A/C on and traveling well in excess of the speed limit. I don’t think you will have any problems.
