Looking for a new Mini shop

In bay area around city of San Jose preferably. The shop that I have been taking my car to and in which has done all the work on has been bought by Dinan engineering and I don't like dealing with them.

Therefore I'm looking to find another shop that knows their Minis. Does anyone know of a good shop?

Yes, Al is taking some much deserved R&R and Steve (one of his proteges) has inherited A&E. I've spent some time in Campbell. Al was the one who, after much back and forth, managed to fit the 235's that you were asking about under my rear fenders .

But if you want forward looking state of the art, you need to motor up to Oakland and meet Jacques Andres, the owner of Bay Bridge Motors. He has been building race engines and race cars for almost 20 years.

He built and drives this car

He resurrected (but I won't let him drive) this car

You could do a lot worse than trust your car to Jacques.

Thanks for the response. Also, as I asked before in the show me your rim thread, how much of work and cost was involved to fit those size in there. Before Al sold the place he told me that he could fit those size as he had done on few of his clients.

Before Al sold the place he told me that he could fit those size as he had done on few of his clients. However, since he has sold the place I ran in to another shop in town that are owned by very good people, Father and son run shop that also have been racing for about 15 years. I just wanted to have your take on this since I'm planning to go with identical tire/wheel combination.

Thanks again in advance.
