I'm so bummed that I couldn't go!

I had a new clutch put in the car, and it took longer than expected, so no brake in period. Also, I found I have a cracked rotor! I went to SEMA for a couple of days and had no time to fix the rotor, so I dropped out. Sounds like a blast, and afternoon winds are normal there.

Sorry to have missed it. I was thinking of dropping by to say hi, but I left the shop at 11:OO am on Thursday, and 6 hours round trip to just drop in wouldn't have been kind to my "to-do" list....

This had to have been the "BEST" event that I've attended...to date. From the organization, the coaches, to the download sessions....by far the best. Oh, and lunch wasn't 1/2 bad either.
Matt, kept trying to hook up with you, but I guess I was having way too much fun. Even got to ride in Gordon's wife's Audi grocery getter....what a blast.
I will definately be there next year.
to HOD.

The feedback and comments from Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts has been great. We had several of our members at Thunderhill on Thursday and EVERYONE was happy, impressed, and wants to come back. I'd think you will see our many of our members participating in HOD events in the future.

I'll definitely sign up next year when they announce the next HOM events. That was hella fun. Anyone had any fav or prob turns? For some reason the transition from 2-3 didn't do it for me. Could not really feel the line for that one. And the 11-12-13 turns I only got down once. Need to work on braking more for 11.

What a great track day!
Beautiful weather and good food.
(6) track sessions of about 25 minutes each.
Great folks to be on track with.

Thanks HOD for putting this together.
Looking forward to the next one.

I had a blast, hopefully I won't have another repeat of my farming venture. I'll look forward to testing out my new suspension on the next one!

I had a great time also. All the way up until turn 6 went left and i went straight. No damage, but a lot of dirt, I'll be cleaning for a couple of weeks.

Jealous in Phoenix.

Probably not, although I may start to pull my MINI back to stock and stop with all the partial track additions...

2-3 is track right, hold the inside line into 3, be off the brakes way before you turn it, feel the car pitch left, think its going to go around, stay in the gas, then lift ever so slightly so the slip angles line up with the apex, which is also track out, which is pretty close to the turn in point for 4. Do it right, and a late entry into 4 pushes you to the exit berm on track right before you head up the hill....as you may realize, nobody really hits that correctly because they wind up in the middle of the track going up the hill...

11 is the slowest corner on the track, you mess it up and you throw away the whole back straight....

we can work on it next time

Cool photos, thanks Ken. Anyone get an electronic version of the lunchtime lineup shot at start/finish?
