No, the greatest thing ever is seeing our Governator's photo hanging on the wall behind the information desk at the DMV.

That's what I thought when I saw my new Michigan title but apparently that is the official DMV designation for the marque.

After thinking about it the other day that was my guess too. Any original Mini owners know for sure?

The originals would not say Mini at all but possibly Austin Mini, Rover or BMC Mini or something like that. Mini was never a brand prior to the BMW aquisition.

Had no idea this was anything but a typo. Wonder WTF they need to list it as anything other than MINI for. It's not as if the VIN's don't differentiate them enough....
Eejits.

Just did my CA DMV registration the other day, and mine said the same thing. Made me laugh, and think of this thread.

Yeah, I'm guessing MINI was used already to denote the classic or something like that..

My guess would be that "MINI" means something in the code world of DMVs. Can anyone suggest what such a code would mean? (Hey... this could be a new game thread!!)

Hmmm. Maybe there is a universal car code list. Maybe somewhere there is a guy sitting at a desk whose job it is to come up with them, like the guy who names hurricanes... And maybe he made a typo........

hello! lol.
Yea I was trying to think of somethink geek-ish to do but couldn't think of anything realistic (I though of doing MINI in binary but that would be way to long) I might do MINI in hex, it's only 8 characters, 7 if I get rid of a redundent 0.
I'll think of something lol
