Glad to see someone reminding people we have members coming from the extreme south bay too. I myself come from the central valley. The Bay Area is the center of our membership area as far as those who show up and participate. I don't have a problem driving to hangout with friends. If you would like more runs in your area you should speak up when we have event planning meetings. I always ask and sometimes don't hear from people unless they want to complain afterwards. Larry

This is all kind of a mute point now Larry. There are enough clubs in Northern California to serve MINI enthusiasts in all parts of the Bay area, Sacramento area, and now the lower Central Valley. The problems that existed when this thread was first created have been mitigated with the addition of the three new clubs formed in the last 14 months.

The great thing is that on at least two weekends of every month, something is happening within a couple of hour drive from anywhere in the bay area.

Thats true. Its good to see other clubs forming. Maybe next spring we can get all the clubs together for a northern california meet. Do you guys want to hook up in August when we head up to Fort Bragg? It would be an afternoon run for you. We are taking Skaggs Springs Rd to Hwy 1. With a tour of the Northcoast Brewery and dinner in Fort Bragg. Larry

I think this is a great idea.... our own mini version of MMW... maybe central CA on the coast would be good to include SOCAL and MidCal... or maybe just a northern CA event, then maybe a Shasta - Yreka (maybe run to Bend) area event (might bring down some OR MINIs) or ????

Lets talk. I will post the Norcal Fort Bragg event on our BBS and website. I have to check the dates though... we do have a camping trip in August. IF its a different date, I think its a great idea. We can meet up on your way up in Healdsburg and break off in Jenner on the way back.

Cool, I've talked to some socal people and they seem to be interested in doing something too. Maybe Kings Canyon or somewhere on the coast. A northern run to Mt Shasta or Lassen would be cool too. Larry

hard to please all

OK first my 2 cents re: Mini meet west
Old and new minis are a wide range of people and in each group are ALL types
I am a "new MINI" owner now, but my first car was a classic (wish I still had it)
I met fantastic people both old and new (minis)
Just talk and have an open mind.

We are now a WIDE group and not ever will all be happy.
But if each club is small it really becomes limited.
OK that wasn't an answer but ....

I know of a British Pub, Mr. Pickwicks in Concord that would really like to host us.

I do not go to all the meetings because of schedle or sometimes location but we need to ALL co-exist. Old and new near and far ...

Happy motoring
