Pulley and Belt help
Hi,
My name is Mark and I just joined the Mini family about a month ago. I purchase a 2004 R53 Chili Red which needs some upgrading. I am Air Force stationed at Travis AFB and loves to wrench on cars, but completely new to Minis.
I am planning to swap out my SC pulley, crank pulley and belts since they are super old. I was wondering if there are any kind experience members in the bay that would like to help me out. I can pretty much do it all just need someone who's done it before to watch over me and give pointers so i don't mess anything up.
Offering a case of beer and new Mini companion ship. Consider it helping out a veteran for Veteran's day. PM me!

Welcome to NAM Phamini - the days of "pulley parties" have passed, but surely there's someone near you that has working knowledge of the best way to tackle it. If someone can't help on NAM get in touch with a local club. Here’s an up-to-date link of local MINI/Mini clubs: http://bit.ly/amGWsd
Here's an important link to the forum's many threads on R53 mods: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...fications-196/
The pulley upgrade has been referred to as the "magic switch" on the R53. Here's the entire kit for a reasonable price: http://bit.ly/bs5HNA This kit plus a high-volume CAI and new cat-back pipes will help your MCS breath harder. These mods alone will put you around the 200HP mark with little effort. From there, you'll have to dig into your engine and replace the head, cam and header for the 250WHP mark. That's a lot of power in a MINI .
And thanks for serving your country...
