What is this clubs privacy policy?
So today I was checking my e-mail and came across one with the subject:
Support Guitars Not Guns - Bid On A Signed Pickguard - Ends between 7pm and 8 pm Tonight! 12/16
Seeing that the original author did not follow acceptable e-mail etiquette and add everyone to the BCC list, but decided to add all recipients to the "TO", so everyone has everyone else's e-mail addresses, it kind of pisses me off.
In todays world of lovely spam, this type of behavior is a huge no-no.
I then started looking through the e-mail addresses and realized that these appear to be NorCal Mini members and Ex Members. Since I thought that was a little strange and the fact that there is not a mention in the e-mail that NorCal had sponsored the event, I found it even odder that everyone appears to be NorCal Mini.
Hrmmmm....why is it that I am receiving an e-mail with 198 other NorCal Mini members in the TO field. Who is it that sent it? Randall Davis - Our very own Vice President
Is is appropriate for NorCal Mini's to utilize our information for purposes other than conducting business within NorCal Minis???
We might not have an expected level of privacy for our e-mail addresses, but misappropriation of data access is unacceptable.
