As of 1/12/08 we have 15 cars signed up to go to Vegas . Meet in the McDonalds parking lot at 6800 Santa Rita Blvd, Pleasanton. Take the Santa Rita exit off of Hwy580 McDonalds is straight through the light and on the left. We will leave at 2 AM SHARP we will make rest and meal stops along the way. Feel free to set up other Caravan info in this thread. Does anyone from the Tracy area want us to stop for them? Does anyone from the south bay want to meet us in Los Banos? Route 580, 5, 99, and eastward. Different groups, ...Wed 7am COR BLMY... Thurs2am LarryP... Thurs 7am Kristoffer any other groups?

Take 680 north to 580 east and get off at Santa Rita, go straight across at the light. Thats six cars.

THE ABOVE PEOPLE ARE LEAVING AT 2:00 AM ON THURSDAY MORNING .

 

CRRIKEY, Opposite Lock, and I are rolling WEDNESDAY at about 7 / 8 am.

We will NOT be stopping at every senic sight and will be using P** jugs (not a bunch of stopping)

CRRIKEY & I will both have trailers and not traveling at an insane pace but will be in Vegas wednesday at about 5 / 6 PM ...

We will be setting up our booth THURSDAY morning

VERY excited as my other son will also be joining us
Maybe we can come up with a "handle" for him in VEGAS !!!

He will man the booth on Friday when we are at the track ... all doing the Phil Wicks & SOLO 1

My wife and I are leaving from Livermore on Thursday later than Larry. At 7am we wanted to head out from Livermore figuring it would collect people as they head west on 580. We live in Alameda so we could meet up closer to the Bay if that works for you. So far we don't have anyone going with us. 6 people seem to be leaving at 2am with Larry. I can't get up that early as I have a guest leaving the night before.

A few of us are leaving Thursday at 5am from fairfield via hwy 12-99 into Lodi or hwy 12-5-120-99 into Manteca, then on to 58 to 15. So, we can do a meet in Manteca for anyone in the bay area going that route. I expect we'll be in Manteca at around 6:30am

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. We where thinking about leaving around 5:00 am. Our planned route so far is 580 to 205 to 120 to 99 to 58 to 15. I think its a nicer route (too many years as a truck driver on 5 ...), no long straight sections and a couple miles shorter which allows us to stop and have a nice lunch along the way.

If you guys need a meeting spot theres a Starbucks at the 120E/99 exit (one exit north of where 120 runs into 99) not much else there.

Oh thanks for the route update! I think we will still be leaving around 6am from Alameda, that's why I said 7am in Livermore to allow some people to get there. I'll ask the wife, but I think 5am might be a tad to early. I have my mum leaving at 11:30pm the night before from SFO, so I will need to get a bit of sleep. I'll update you if we can leave earlier. Where are you proposing as a meeting point on 580. I don't know the route that well. And you are leaving by 5am not meeting then right?

Thursday Morning Caravan Update...

So far seems like we have 4 people from Sacramento/Fairfield area going down Hwy 99. The plan is to stop in Manteca at:
Starbucks Coffee
1451 Hulsey Wy,
Manteca.

At 6:30am to meet with anyone from the bay area. For anyone comming from the bay area, you have to head north one exit on HWY 99. Take the Yosemite Exit, make a left under the freeway. You'll see In-N-Out burger, Jamba Juice etc to your Left right after the freeway. Easy On and Off.

Here is my info for anyone wanting to meet up there. Please contact me so we know how many to expect as we wouldn't want to leave anyone behind on this long trip to Las Vegas.

My wife and i will be at Starbucks at 6:30a.m. Thur in Manteca. We will be in two Minis,one BRG. an a chill red. See you there

 

After breakfast Sunday we will head through Death Valley then go south to 170 going by lake Isabell (very scenic )to 99 then over to 5. All are welcome to join us. Last time we went there was an accident on the freeway and we got home just as fast as the people that went that way . Forecast for Death Valley 88'
