Some one complained about the dropped support for pre-2018 mini and here’s a developer response from Friday. Might be useless considering previous BMW cases, but here it is still some hope for the rest of us preLCI minis

 

I am thoroughly pissed about the update. All the features that I loved, and part of the reasons I chose the car, are gone! The app no longer speaks to the calendar and sends directions to the car and notifies me when I need to leave for an appointment.

edited to add: I was just looking in my car trying to get settings right and see that the Mini Calendar app in the car is gone.

 

And... the Find Mate option is gone too.

 

Seems like the future update is soon. At least the requirement is defined this time. Finger crossed

 

Unfortunately, if you own a Mini prior to 2018, you will no longer be able to access connected services through the latest app. Some users are frustrated by this, as the functionality they enjoyed in the old app has been removed, leaving them without access to features such as remote car control and MINI2 monitoring. However, remember that is angular is dead and there is nothing that can be done about it. While some are looking for workarounds by accessing older versions of the app, there is no longer official support for these models through the new app.

 

Yet another one of MINI's failures.
