If anyone coming to this meet is interested, I have about half a quart of 5W-30 Castrol Syntec, which someone should be able to use to top off their oil. I have Mobil One in my car now, so I have no use for it. Let me know, and I'll bring it along.

Are you going to be Cooper-less next weekend? Can't remember when you're expecting the S!

Oh congratulations, nomonstersinme!! How excellent! I imagine you've got quite a ways til break-in, that is if you're observing it. I believe we had someone breaking in on the 12mdc run and to be honest he would have been happier as a follower. If you put yourself at or near the end, you will find it much easier to keep up and enjoy your motoring. We would love to have you.

thank you! thats what i was thinking, if i did go.. but i need a lot more practice before i can do that... i'm fine on flat ground but hills are a nightmare. and when there are other cars around i get really nervous..

nomonstersinme: If you're heading down from Boston to the Litchfield meet, let me know, maybe we can caravan... I haven't decided yet whether to head down Friday evening or early Saturday morning.

I assume it's just starting from a stop that's giving you trouble, right? I'm sure everyone and their mother has given you advice, but as someone who just taught a friend to drive stick on my MINI this weekend, I think the number one thing is to make sure you give the car enough gas as you let the clutch out. It's much better to rev the engine (not over 4000 rpm of course ) and get a little chirp out of the tires than to stall. It'll feel natural in no time!

isnt the meet on sunday? why are you heading down so early? i probably wont leave until sunday morning.. real early i suppose. but if i decide to go, and you are going down sunday i'd love to caravan.

Oops. Brain not yet recovered from holiday weekend. I'll definitely be heading down Friday or Saturday because I grew up in L'field and my parents live there. Hope to see you there!

I went through this thread and the Long Island caravan one, and here's who seems to be in so far (I'm editing this as I find out about more people):

chrisnl
cooperspeed
antsmini
gminio
storer
dminiero
nomonstersinme
x2board
hank
johnsecco
ice
13sec.mini
budlite11
jennysup
tontobird
pezboy
MOMINI
VINMIN

And a few others have chimed in, but I don't know if they're planning on coming:
koolmini
dandp
pbrass
suprchrgdmini

So, it's looking like we'll have 15 cars at least, and hopefully (with a final recruiting drive...) 20+!

Who else is in CT?

Do we have a route sheet for this jaunt?

Will there be a stamp for our journals? (I just received mine and I need stamps from the 12 Most... and MOT)

CooperSpeed, I'm an enormous map dork and wouldn't mind throwing a sheet of directions together for this if you'd like. I have real (i.e., non-Mapquest) maps of the whole area and know the roads pretty well, so it would be no biggie. We could do a brain-dump over the phone or something. Or maybe it's all taken care of...
