Well I just got back from New Country MINI and the service there was great. Mike rocks and the service took no time at all. As for buying a MINI, MINI of Fairfield County rocks. I can't thank the people at MINI of Fairfield County for helping me get my MINI.

Giving an update on MoFC in Stamford by leading off with this from Motoringfile: http://www.motoringfile.com/2008/04/...comment-218730 I can add to this story by saying having bought my third (there is someone who has bought five at MoFC) MINI at this wonderful dealership, that they apparently are having their absolutely best sales month ever since they opened their doors! Who knows what May will bring? While there, a potential customer came in to look at and test drive a Clubman because she was tired of filling up her Tahoe's gas tank.

I've said it before, but I just have to go on record, again, to say that Fabrizio Reda is an excellent MA - unfailingly polite, considerate and helpful. And he gives great flowers, too. 8) Seriously, everyone at MoFC from the technicians to the service advisors to their great MAs (Fabrizio, Peter, Mark and Antonio!) and Susana, are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Some who've never experienced this kind of service might assume that it was all just the dealership "game face", but it is not - it's genuine.

I'll add that besides those lovely flowers (it was my birthday), I was given a full tank of ga$, and a full set of rubber mats, including the Clubman's boot mat as well. Gas may be the norm, but these days it sure costs quite a bit more than it used to.

Always been treated very well at MoFC from the service technicians, to the administrative staff, to the service advisors - George and Peter, and everyone else there. They just keep getting better.

I agree.

I ended up buying my car from Westchester MINI, but only because I decided not to get the '07 I ordered from Fabrizio and to get an '06 that was on the lot in Westchester.

Fabrizio was a good sport about it and I appreciated that.

Dean.

I bought my car at MINI of Fairfield County from Scott, who now is at New Country. Let me go over three, that's right, three, of the best dealers anywhere!

First, MINI of Fairfield County. I had such a pleasant time with Scott - he got me fixed up with my registration back in May 2006. He and Susana set the cards and documentation straight with the State of Connecticut. They got me mixed up with another person with my same name and the same town, which made me not be able to register my MINI. When they took care of me, everything was set.

Service at MINI of Fairfield County is great as well. Between Peter R. and George, they have an outstanding Service Department. They both deserve all 5s on the MINI Survey (as I recall the Survey is 1-to-5, 5 being the best). I am approaching my next major Service, and, if this one flows like the other ones, I'm sure it'll be a big hit. Last time I was in for a brake job (unfortunately I had them wear out approaching 20,000 miles), George threw in a free oil change (I understand it's good to get an oil change between major services! I believe that was a close value to $100 (give or take).. so, of course, he got all 5s on the Survey. Since MINI of Fairfield County is close (about 20 miles) and I can't see Scott there anymore, any questions that I might have about the car - any at all - can always be asked and answered respectfully, accurately, and promptly by Peter B., Mark, or Antonio. I know that Susana is always helpful as well. Sorry, I never had a chance to ask anything of Fabrizio, but from what I understand he's great too. So kudos goes out to the entire team at MINI of Fairfield County, since this is a slight change with the way I felt about the Service Department on one of my visits - which wasn't all that pleasant, everything scores 5s now and that's Excellent in my book.

Second, I have had a chance to deal with Scott at his new "home" at New Country. All the team at New Country Sales, from the last time I was there, was great - honourable mention to Scott, Bob, and Craig for really going out of their way to take care of the customer. Mike in Service should also be mentioned, as he goes out of his way for the customer as well - in all aspects of taking your car in, making sure the job is done right and first time!

Third, I recently had a chance to work with Paul at BMW of Westchester. I know that Steven at MINI of Westchester also goes out of his way and has all the honourable praise from his comrades at BMW of Westchester. A family member bought her car (a 3 Series Sedan) from BMW of Westchester and the transaction was flawless. Paul also has been in touch to ensure that our family is still satisfied. Additionally, BMW of Westchester also came to pick up the cars that were traded in - no-one had to drive them down to trade them in - now THAT is service.

So, you see, you can't lose if you're in Fairfield, Westchester, New Haven, or Hartford Counties. There's always a Sales and Service Department that will handle your every request, and go out on a limb for you as well!

Thanks to every last individual at every last dealership at the ones I just mentioned!

Bravo!

Bought my first '03 at Westchester MINI. Had problems with delivery - 2 options I ordered were wrong. One was the dash - OK - not much to do about that, so I jsut accepted it. The MA's offer was - "well, you can order another car and wait for it..."...
The 2nd problem was the wrong wheels - shoulda been white - now please, a dealer won't swap out wheels to make a happy customer?
Service continued to be disappointing.

For my '06, went back to Westchester and to MoFC. The experience at Westchester was once again terrible - they were unresponsive, ignored phone appointments, etc.. In other words, they were the "typical" car dealer - NOT the typical MINI dealer (see below).

Chose MoFC - they were then, and have continued to be, fabulous. At delivery, my MA Scott went over the car in minute detail with me. There was a delivery issue this time too, but we reached agreement on it eventually, and they resolved it to my satisfaction.
Scott is now at New Country, and my new MA is Antonio, a real stand-up guy - passionate about the cars, and amazingly helpful.
the whole staff there are the best. Whenever I go by, it's like visiting old friends. Service is great, very professional and competent.

I'm abroad and would like quotes on prices from NE dealers. Should I e-mail the sales managers or MAs?

You can certainly use MINI of Fairfield County's website http://www.minifairfieldcounty.com/ContactUsForm or you can write directly to any of the Motoring Advisors at their own addresses: http://www.minifairfieldcounty.com/MeetOurDepartments if the Stamford, CT location is good for you. I don't know that it really matters.

The other dealer in CT is New Country in Hartford, CT http://www.newcountrymini.com/, if this is a better location for you.

My closest dealer is New Country, my dad leased a couple cars from their Mercedes branch. but I don't mind going further for the better experience, so I'm contacting all the dealers I'm willing to travel to and see who returns my e-mails and what they have to offer.

New Country has got some excellent folks, too. Good idea to get in touch with both - depending upon what you're looking for, etc., as to what they both have available.

what's funny is at the Merc dealership when my dad leased his first vehicle him and my uncle were looking around the showroom, and a Pakistani salesman named Nelson walks up to them and starts speaking to them in Cantonese because he overheard them talking. They both ended up leasing cars from him because of that extraness lol.

So should I e-mail the sales manager or MAs? I've already sent out a few e-mails directly to the managers and stopped to hear your inputs. I'm looking for a custom MCS and seeing what they can do for me.

Well, of course I'd tell you to contact Fabrizio Reda directly but I am sure that if you go through their websites' contact sources that it will work, too. I believe Peter Braun, who is a great guy and very knowledgable about racing in particular, at MoFC is in charge of their Internet sales...I don't know how it works with regard to rotations as to the sales force, etc., but I also know that all MAs depend upon referrals, as any good salesperson would.

Cover your bets - go to a particular MA (if you feel like it) and use the two websites main contact methods...as in the link I gave you...that way if someone happens to be on vacation... And if you're interested you might like to stop by http://nemini.org/index.php which is a more regional forum/club...you can read about dealership feedback there, and the different runs and rallies...and special events going on. Too bad you're going to be around this week for http://nemini.org/index.php?topic=10867.0 - if you're interested in racing.

Please let us know what you end up buying! And you're more than welcome. Either dealership should see you right.

Try both!
Now I don't know about New Country, but at MoFC, you can choose from Portuguese, Italian, Spanish...not sure about Cantonese, but they are a fairly multi-national group!

lol that's quite all right, I'm a native English speaker so I'm confident in it, if my parents ever have any questions I'll be glad to look for a Canto speaker for them.

I'm sure you are. What's interesting is that here in the CT/NY region http://nemini.org/index.php?referredby=59 we do have such a wonderfully cosmopolitan group.

Judging on who responded to my emails, I recommend Inskip and Fairfield County. I sent two e-mails to New Country Mini, one to their sales manager and one to an MA, no response. But we're still going to check out New Country because of the distance.. if not for that I'd go for the other two.

This is too bad. Call New Country (because of your distance) and specifically ask for Scott in Sales. You will be pleasantly surprised just how good customer service can be.

ah I appreciate the input, but I've already went through Fairfield and will be receiving the purchase order through DHL actually. I got a response from Craig Eckart and the price they gave me was more than both Inskip and Fairfield, I tried negotiating again no response again.. so I just happily went with Fabrizio in Fairfield.
