>>too early? As I said I went from AW to BEAR Mt (Not much of a drive) then up to Cold spring(this was nice) I think you will find more twists and turns going up 9w to Bear mt. but hey Ill do whatever is best for everyone.
>>Keep us posted , OK

>>Momentum ops:

I'm going to go up 9W (twisties) to Bear Mountain and then back track to Anthony Wayne (12p ?)
btw: Anthony Wayne to Cold Spring isn't much of a drive, we should motor on after Cold Spring, plenty of nice roads in the area

Once I took 301 through Cold Spring all the way to what I think was the end. Nice drive, some nice twisties that circle around a lake.

I live in the area (cold spring). we should go over the bear mountain bridge and go right onto 202 as it is full of twisties as it makes its way along the river for several miles. then head north on route 9 to snakehill road and then into cold spring. route 301 from cold spring to carmel is also an excellent drive (my usual sunday morning mortorcycle ride).

we should pick out a route (many miles.....on twisties  )
map it out
and hand out the directions, before we leave Anthony Wayne parking lot
so everyboby ends up at the same destination (even the slower people)

Can someone from the area map out a good route from Anthony Wayne and send it to me? I have no idea about that area.
This will allow me to put together an information packet for everyone planning to attend.

Spread the word guys! There are about 3 or 4 MINIs that I see daily. I'm going to create a flyer and if I see them parked, I'll give them one. I'll also tell them about this site. Next week I should be stopping by my dealer in Morristown and I'll let them know too!

I also ride and take a similar route. I live in Bergen County and I go through Hariman follow your route to Carmel and continue on up to Marcus Dairy in Danbury CT where hundreds of bikers meet on Sunday mornings. On the ride back I usually loop back through Perkins Drive. It' a great early sunday morning ride.

I hope to be able to make it on the 9th.

Denny

we start at Anthony Wayne and motor on to Cold Spring and continue on to.....??
but we should have an end point like the Bear Mountain Inn
where we can all meet and kick back at the huge fireplace and eat
and when done the Bear Mt. Inn has easy access to the Palisades Parkway
we still need to map out a motoring route

where exactly is the wayne anthony recreation area? What city is it in so maybe I can try and put it in my gps? Its not near the bear mountain inn is it? I am confused as to this, if its actually over the bear mt. bridge or if its in a diff spot like by the woodbury commons. Also is anyone bring two way radios? If so it would be worth finally buying one.

Illustrator - I'm definitely going to pick up a pair this week. Also, I believe some of the other guys already have them. And anyone that doesn't, you might want to pick up a pair so we can talk on the official MINI station - ch 7 sub 21

BTW, what route # is Palisades Interstate highway? Is that 287 or 87 or something?

One more thing - are radar detectors legal in NY state??????? I'll be bringing mine for the long haul up there.

OK - one last thing - do you guys in NJ (chatham, whitehouse station, etc...) want to meet somewhere before hand so we can motor up route 287 together? B/c it looks like the meeting place is about an hour and 20-30 minutes from us.

greatgro, yes radar detectors are legal in NY. Also what kind of radio do I need to get to talk on that channel? Also greatgro I believe its RT 6. Its right near the woodbury commons.

Also someone should consider posting this event on miniusa.com under the new events section in the owner network, I bet that would make for an even bigger turn out. I would do it myself but I dont wanna step on anyones toes.

There's no such place as Dooletown anymore. If it's easier, call me and I'll get the map and info together with the directions

The Palisades Parkway is just that, The Palisades Parkway. The Anthony Wayne Rec Area is just before exit 18 (Rt 6) if your travelling North on the Parkway.
