Could not find a previous road hazard topic in this forum.

On I495 North on the bridge that goes over the Merrimack River in Lawrence, MA there is a huge pot hole in the right lane. I did not have my fogs on like I usually do and did not see it before I hit it. A good bit of the ice that had accumulated on the front of my car flew up in the air and hit my windshield. I am very surprised that my air bags didn't deploy, but I haven't been able to find any damage yet. My right front wheel and tire appear intact, and the suspension and steering seem unaffected.

I take that lane all the time, and know that the pot hole must have formed within the last two days. Last night I was forced into the left lane because a truck had flipped onto its side in the right lane. I strongly suspect that that truck must have lost control after hitting that pot hole.

Typical of MA, where road construction jobs are just mafia deals, the hole was neither patched nor was a barrel with a warning light put put there. I wonder how many accidents that pot hole has caused since yesterday.

I'll send a couple of my boys over to fix that pothole. We'll see if it likes sleeping with the fishes . . . .

Oh man, don't even get me started on this subject. Since my move to Okla City, I have been on a quest to try and get in touch with the powers that be that control the road repairs here.

Lots of run a round from lots of different people that just pass my calls on to someone else. This Sunday I'm getting up at 5AM to take a photo of some tar that the city has put into a expansion joint on a on ramp going on I-35 North..

I swear, that tar strip has got to be a least an inch or 2 inches higher than the road surface. When you hit that with the MINI the front wheels and the back wheels don't trackin the same location. The back of the car moves to the side when you hit this major bump.

So I don't seem to have a problem with pot holes back here, just speed bumps on the damn freeway.
I may have to move back to California to find some good roads.

Now back to the telephone

yeh, I live close to that bridge over the Merrimac river. I always use the
lower level(bridge is a doubledecker) to avoid all those holes, expansion
joints and drain caps. It's about 10 times worse since they started working
on it. So far all the work has been structural and the road deck has been
ignored. Take the exit before it and use the lower level(smooth as glass)
to avoid those jarring holes
