I know it's still a little early, but, who would be up for a weekend camp-out at Lime Rock for the annual weekend of racing?

We could make this quite an event with 20-30 MINI's. Though we wouldn't be on the track of course...
Anyone?

Damn, that would be a great weekend!!! I remember growing up as a kid going to Lime Rock and watching the races. Too bad I'm in Germany now. I'll just have to settle for a German race with the local German beer!

I'm down wit dat. The camping part though concerns me.

Ever try to drive a tent stake through a roadway?

I would at least put the tent in the chicane. Safer since trraffic would be slower

It is a mix of all sorts. Unfortunately, the vintage races were changed to another date several years ago. This year NAStyCAR is in the line-up.
Go to http://www.limerock.com for the complete weekend line-up.

Man, I wish that I could go....

In a prior life, I lived in CT and worked for a major oil company that was very involved in racing.

For the BIG 3 Summer Holiday Weekends, I got to go to LRP and would encourage anyone who can get there to well....get there!

Lime Rock is a great track and if you're in the pits or on the hill watch 'em Big Bend or anywhere else around the track.....you'll have a ball.

Enjoy the races.....and by the way, do they still not race on Sundays?

Yeah, still no racing on Sundays in deference to the church across the street from the track.
The Memorial Day races up at LRP are fantastic every year. It's not all V8's or Vintage. The Speed(Channel) GT and Touring Car races are always a good time. It is not a superspeedway kind of venue. You just bring your own chairs and hang out on the grass hills overlooking the racetrack. I would suggest sitting on the hill across the bridge from the paddock as it overlooks about 2/3's of the track. For an extra couple bucks you can walk around in the paddock, drool over the cars and talk to the crews if they're available. I'll be up there, although I won't be camping out. Half the fun of going to Lime Rock is the "parking lot car show" that goes on. Everybody spends some extra time detailing their weekend cars before they head up, or spends some more of their butlers' time, as the case may be. There is an Alpina club that heads up there most every year and parks in Z Lot right across the stream from the Start/Finish line. I am pretty big Bimmer-phile, but but I saw a Strosek Porshe 993 up there once and...woah. I look forward to seeing you all up there.
