The way most of the thread looks, it looks like almost EVERYONE hates EVERYTHING to do with "The Fast and the Furious". Upon this, I conclude that MOST people on this site will not even attampt to look at it, especcialy since June 6th is in the past.

I for one like the import scene. You should too, you are part of it. No? Well then, where do MINI's come from? So what if your car is "made by BMW". It is still an import. Why do you think import magazines do articles on it, and mod their own? Maybe because they are in the same class as all those "rice" cars.

I agree L, and I wish you would delete it. As usual stovepipe has taken a thread way off topic, with a personal attack that had nothing to do with what we were talking about.

 

Hey Ant, I just looked at that online portfolio. Nice stuff! Scratchboard is NOT easy to work with. I think I might be scared if I were reading a Hansel and Gretel with pictures like that. LOL. Keep up the good work. I hope it pays off for you in the end.

I hope this wasn't directed at me because my boyfriend and I are both fans of the import scene. I just think Vin Diesel sucks. We are going to see this movie on Tuesday when he has a day off.

And I guess you embrace a different definition of "rice" than I do....to me "ricey" is applied to cars that aren't fast, but have had things added to them to give them the appearance (to the driver) of being fast. Such as a big fart-can exhaust or a pointless wing. MINIs are not ricey. An '89 Toyota Corolla that is completely stock but has an enormous spoiler on it is.

Would if I could, but I can't.

 

Just like to add...the cars in that movie....not ricey. I told TJ if I won the lottery I would buy him a Supra.

 

worst movie I have ever seen. No plot, horrible chases, NOS doesn't make everything go blurry :smile:, and the crown victoria cop cars were hanging right along with the "modded" evolution. Acting was horrible. If you want to watch a movie with some great chase scenes rent "RONIN" the plot is fair but the chases are impeccable.

 

Speaking of NOS, I know someone who has it in their MINI.

I never cared for the Fast and the Furious scene...to ricey...too immature too gangsterish, too ghetto for my taste. The Italian job is a movie with taste and class unlike the boy racer glorification of 2fast 2 furious.

Yes, it is an import car and yes, it does get modded a lot...but what I'm referring to is the whole culture thing that seems to surround the scene. As mentioned...too ghetto, little class. Needless to say, I won't see the movie. Not against it...just don't care.

 

Yeah I believe it is beyond arguement that the 2F2F thing is way outside our thing. Regardless, the boys that I've seen and talked to seem to have the utmost respect for our cars. I appreciate that. I don't really want to see the movie, didn't much dig the first, but I'm so there anyway, cuz it's a combo I find delectable.
