Any Minis from MA or Southern NH?

My fiance and I are moving to the MA/NH area this summer (provided our jobs come through!) and we're excited to jump right into things there. We're currently in Washington, DC and we're SO looking forward to starting a new life elsewhere.
I was just wondering what the Mini world it like up there. Actually anything you locals would like to share with this young, eager, mini loving couple would be very beneficial to us since we've only been up there once!
THANKS!

Hello, welcome to NAM and soon to New England! I'm newish to MINI and NE myself. There is not an official major Boston club, the biggest official club seems to be based in Rhode Island. But just because there isn't much official name-brand activity doesn't mean there isn't an active group. They mostly hang out at MINI2.com, in that regional forum. The major event of the summer is MINIs on Top, a trip up Mt Washington in NH, something like July 14 (or June?).

Let me know any particular advice you are looking for. Just in terms of real estate, you're lucking out if you are more towards NH than Boston metro. I'm coming from Chicago and everything is about 50% higher here than there! Insane! And the biggest let down of the region is the utter lack of decent Mexican food! Very disconcerting.

Anyone hear of any meets or gatherings in this area? I'm forced to tag along with the VW guys due to the lack of MINI oriented get togethers around here.

Most of the NE/NY Mini action happens on MINI2, besides local club boards.

MAMA (Monadnock Area Mini Association) is in the southern NH/mid-Mass area, and do some fun stuff, besides the Boston area folks (everybody hangs out in the MINI2 forum also)

i will be attending summer splash 07 this august in CT, and from the experience, possibly throwing a Pittsfield meet in the near future.

some people have expressed interest in a pittsfield meet, becaus of it's central location.

Two words for you "Anna's Taqueria." They have three Boston locations (I believe). There are two out by me (Porter Square and Davis Square). Unbelievable burritos, decent guac, and really cheap food. It's not a "nice" dining place, but is great for a quick/cheap bite. 4 of the 6 people working there at any given time will not be able to speak English (which is usually a good sign). I force myself to only go once a month, but only because I would probably gain 20 lbs if I went all the time.

Andover, MA here!

My girlfriend and I just moved up to Andover, MA.

Wouldn't you know it, just a few doors down is another MCS! We've crossed paths enough time now, it's only a matter of time before we actually introduce ourselves!

On an unrelated note, did MINI actually come out with a tag game, or was I dreaming it? Laminated "Tag! You're it!" cards, to be put under the wiper of another MINI in the parking lot.... You're thoughts?

I nominate... someone else

there are 2 other MINIs in my parking garage, yet no Boston-area owners club? Someone needs to get the ball rolling on this one.
