Questions replacing front and rear door speakers?

Hey guys, so i was interested in replacing the front and rear door speakers in my 14 countryman all4, It came with the basic 6 speaker set. From what i been able to gather i would need a 4" coaxial speakers to replace them.

What i was not able to figure out is whats the wattage that the stock headunit would be able to output?

Also it looks like Mini uses a triangle mounting pattern for their speakers where alot of the aftermarket units seem to use a square pattern. Would i need a bracket/adapter or could i use 3 out of 4 holes?

The speakers i was thinking of using was the Alpine SPS-410 or the Focal 100ac. Would i run into any issues with these?

Thanks! :D

I would suggest a search on the forum, there are several posts about speaker replacement. In short most 4 " speaker will fit without adaptors, you just use 3 holes. The factory unit will not overpower either of your choices. Mine took approx. 20 minutes per door with the correct tools.

Thanks for the reply :P

I did a little looking around last night and from what i can gather i can just replace them straight out as long as the speaker was not deeper then ~3" (i believe is what i read). Other then that just takes some soldering.

By any chance any idea if would them effect the warranties on the mini? I noticed some people said the tech wouldn't notice, other say if the head unit breaks for what ever reason the speakers could cause some warranty issues.

Also just curious what speakers did you replace yours with?

Thanks again!

I had Rockford Fosgate R14x2 Prime 4" Coax installed...

Went to a very reputable local, auto accessory installation store and said I wanted to replace my front door speakers. They quoted $350 for the speakers and labor!

They wanted to charge me $199 for the speakers, which I bought on Amazon for $35 for both of them and had my neighbor gear head boy install them. They sound great!

Oh, and they also said my front doors took 5 1/4. I told them they did not, but they wouldn't listen to me.
