Navigation & Audio Mini Connected need help
Mini Connected need help
I just picked up my CM today yet the Mini Connected screen states "No Plugin Compatible Device Connected." with a lightning adapter to the USB port. I was surprised I needed to update the MX and TX software. Yet even that is supposedly only valid for iPhone 5 with up to ios6. Of course, mine is ios 7. I am not sure if I need to buy an old iPhone 4 to make it work or somehow restore an the old Apple ios operating system? I read on a BMW site that they are not interested in keeping up with every Apple change and may not attempt to do so.
Is anyone using an IPhone 5 with ios7 actually having Mini Connect work? If your iPhone works, what ios are you operating.
(Well, at least, my Bluetooth works.)

Yes I have the Y adapter I received with my Mini to Mini Connect.
After scouring internet it looks like my issue is with theApple Lightning 30-Pin to 8-Pin Adapter for iPhone 5. As best I can tell, it does NOT support videothru the adapter. So is anyone actually using an iphone 5 for Mini Connect (myBluetooth and Audio connections works fine).
From Apple Supportsite: "When you connect an iPod or iPhone with the Lightning to 30-pinAdapter, the iPod or iPhone will be treated like an iPod that does not supportiPod Out. You should still be able to navigate through and play your musicusing the vehicle's built-in user interface.
iPod Out is a vehicle-integration system built in to somecars that allows the user to experience Apple's own user interface by pushingvideo to the car's display screen. It is not supported over a Lightning 30-pinAdapter or Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2m)

iPod out "Plugin" does not work. If you use the Mini Connected app (Twitter, Facebook, Pandora, MOG etc) it works fine. So until a new adaptor anyone with a 5 or 5s is stuck with Bluetooth or USB option only. I personally think we will be SOL since 30 pin was analog and lightning is digital.
iPhone 5s with no problems
I have a 5s and the 30-pin to lightning adapter from Apple (see link below) and have no problems. I actually have a 30-pin extender between the y-cable and the adapter and it all works.
