GPS Internal or External

Recently purchased a 2011 Mini Cooper with the CD player and USB interface.

Looking for help on selecting a GPS system. First it's the issue of cables, docks etc for any portable based system. Thus I would rather have an internal unit if all possible

Anyone out there already crossed this stream and can lend some words of wisdom?

TIA

By "internal", do you mean a radio replacement with a motorized LCD map screen?

By "Internal" do you mean retrofitting the factory Nav system?

There has been a look of comment about that on the R56 board, and I don't believe anyone has done it successfully. If so, it would be super expensive and the best option might be to trade the car back in for one with the Nav from the factory.
