My Motorola Razor V3xx connected to my Mini's Bluetooth system, but the phone would reset every 20 seconds or so. The phone's screen would go black, then white, then come back on. If I were talking, the call would be disconnected.

After phone calls to Mini and Motorola with no success, I cleared my phone and added just a few contacts. The phone worked fine. After much trial-and-error, I found that the one contact on my phone that was calling the problem was "Jesus", spelled with an accent over the "u". When I changed the contact to a normal "u", everything worked perfectly.

The car is pretty picky in general about what's in the contacts. While the phone doesn't reset, the phone book on the car chokes on most e-mails and having too many addresses or phone numbers for a single contact.

 

Question: have you been able to use the voice dial feature in the Mini? When I say "add name" to the car's phonebook all I get is "the phonebook is empty". That's not what's supposed to happen. When I say Help it does not list "add name" as an option.

I've been able to get the voice dial feature to work after a few tries. Say "Save Name". It will ask for the name twice and then the phone number. The trick is to say "Save" after it confirms the phone number.

P.S. Thanks to Greatbear for a great question. I knew the jokers out there wouldn't be able to resist the title of this thread. I'm a fan of the saying "Jesus is coming -- look busy", but I don't what to do if calls.
