Help with panel removal...

Ok, so to those who know how to take your MINI apart: I'm trying to install an aux input and I need to get behind the radio. How do you remove the panel above the knees and below the steering wheel? I can't see any screws.

Thanks

I posted a thread earlier today asking the same question:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=95550

The short answer is that it pops down but it takes a scary amount of force to do so. It hinges on the bottom and has a clip on either side of the top that holds it in. I managed to push mine down from the space just below the steering column.

I found that it makes it easier if you put the tilt wheel in the highest position and stick your hand between the column and the panel. Pull hard down towards the floor. It'll go.

Don't be scared of the force or the sound it makes... it's made to pop down.

I had it come strait down the center console and it comes out centered underneath the toggles.
