Navigation & Audio Navi - DVD based? or what?
Navi - DVD based? or what?
is the navigation (in an 04 MCS, dunno if that matters) dvd based? or how do you update it, I am in a vastly changing/growing area, and new streets in cluding my own address are not listed as of yet...
info is appreciated.
also, does the nav screen ever go to touch screen in any model 04+???
the little **** is distracting (ya ya, only use it when not moving) but seriously, it takes forever to use it, well maybe you just have to get used to it

I was having the same problem in the Seattle area. Too many new roads not on my 2004 MCS Nav system.
So I broke down and ordered the new DVD (2007.1) from Navteq. Did a firmware upgrade to v28 (hacked for the British Fremale voice, of course) and it's a whole new ball game!
Well worth $199 for the updated maps.

$200 isn't bad once in a while, but with 2 updates coming out per year, you'd have to spend $400/year to always stay up to date - and that's a ridiculous cost. They should have a much more reasonable subscription price.
